      Hi Blurmom,

My son will be in P1 next year too. Which class is your son in ? My son will be in 1H. Wonder if your son goes to any student care centre ?

      Hi Blurmorn,
We send our son to Whispering Heart Student Care (blk 617). They help student to complete school homework at the center, that release some pressure on the parents.

Hi jiyou2003, any comment for Whispering Heart Student Care (blk 617). is it ok? I'm thinking to send my girl to this student care.

              Hi all,

When my ds came back from sch last friday, I assumed that there will be tons of HW.
But nothing at all, the only instruction for the mar holidays as written on the diary was \"read books'.
Okay, i thot P1 wld be let off for this mar holiday. :?

Yesterday, while he was surfing online, he remembered his acc at http://www.lead.com.sg.
He logged on and was shocked to see a long list of assignments in his inbox from the subject teachers. :!:

I've heard of elearning during the sch closure during the sars period. Never thought that my ds wld get a chance to do it in his sch too.
Now, thinking of getting a bigger lcd monitor as there are tons of reading to be done on the screen,
like counting 'bi hua' of the chinese characters, reading the compre passages or counting the shapes of a diagram etc.

Haha, but I'm glad to see those assignment cos my ds follows teachers' instructions to a T,
and he wld do the assignments w/o me nagging after him!

And yes, I sms fellow parents abt the online assignments cos they were like me, assumed there wasn't any initially! ๐Ÿ˜‰

                Hi, all

For kids who are in the student care the whole day, althought they are also encouraged to log onto lead.com to do the assignments, I think it is not necessary to finish all of them since they spent the whole day in the student care and have limited time to complete all the assignments.

At least my DS never really completed all of them since P1 (heโ€™s currently in p3) and his form teacher is ok with itโ€ฆJust to share in case some parents whose kids are in full day student care get โ€˜stressedโ€™ over this. However, you may just want to double checked with your childโ€™s form teacher just in caseโ€ฆ

                      Hi Sakura_2009,

I also stay in Jurong West Extension and next yr will be my son's p1 I didnt do any PV so I will be depending on my luck for his addmission.

My first choice is West Grove

2nd choice I am still not sure if I should have Juying or Xingnan... hows ur feedback bout Juying as a whole>?
Well, my first choice for DS was also West Grove. Never do PV so just try my luck during the balloting. Unfortunately, no luck leh ๐Ÿ˜› The probability during that time was 1:3 (one vacancy for every 3 kids)

So with West Grove out, my next option was either Pioneer or Xingnan or Juying. I gave Pioneer a miss coz it was still located at JE that time. We wanted to give Xingnan a shot but was told we need to ballot. Dun't want to take the risk coz if we didn't get in, really dunno where DS will get posted to. So I'm down with my last choice, which is Juying Pri - sure get in coz there are still many places left after 2nd phase.

                        Exactly same as me... :stupid:
But then now Pioneer is nearby do u think its good choice...

Also xingnan had to ballot is 3c suppl ๐Ÿ˜ž

                        Hows Juying studies wise

                        MTIA
heh..heh..if you didn't do PV for WG, then you really need lots of luck ๐Ÿ™ Anyway, no harm trying ๐Ÿ˜„

My DS is doing alright in Juying now. In fact, we asked him to change to Pioneer (for proximity's sake when Pioneer shifted back to JW) when he was in P2 but he refused, saying that he like the school and wanted to be with his friends. Ok lor, can't forced him since he's the one attending the school.

The only thing you may really want to consider when choosing JY over say, Pioneer is the location. Pioneer is much nearer to our home whereas for Juying, we need to actually take 2 buses to reach the school. During school days is ok, coz there's sch bus, but the problem comes when he has to attend CCAs + supplementary + some other ad hoc enrichment classed organised by the school outside school hours. A real :stupid: for us now. Sometimes need to take leave just to ferry him to and from sch leh...
