      auntieM:
My 7 yr old was setting the table for dinner and he brought out a plate with very little rice for grandma...

Me: Why so little rice for grandma?
DS: She should not eat too much then she will have no strength to scold me!
      Me: :faint:

Grandma always tell DS to eat more so he will have 'strength' to do what he wants.....

              Hi lovekidsverymuch,

I was referring to my mum that stays with us regarding the 'little rice' story.
My MIL will never be bothered to 'scold' my DS 😛

DS2 is going 3 soon. He was having some swollen eye problem and my mum went to fetch him early at childcare so as to bring him to our usual doctor. Doctor is at Jurong and childcare is at central area.

                DS2: where are we going?
Ah ma: to see the doctor.
DS2: oooooh, to see MY doctor...

Ah ma (walking with DS2 to a nearby bus-stop)

                DS2: I don't want (to) take bus.
Ah ma: Then what (do) you want?
DS2: I want (to) take tak-si (meaning taxi)
Ah ma: But I have no money, only coins...

DS2 went on to search every inch of her pocket and wanted her to show him her wallet, till he was convinced that ah ma really has no money (money to him is in the state of coins, he doesn't understand what dollar notes is all about yet)

                Ah ma: you have money?
DS2: no, daddy mummy say I only need to go school

At the doctor's, while waiting, there was this big vending machine. DS2 wants a drink, so wanted some coins. My mum gave him 1 golden 5c coin. He tried very very hard to slot it in. Alas he gave up.

DS2: Ah ma, I don't want a small coin. I want a big big coin.

Before it was his turn, my mother rehearsed with him which parts were painful and that they doctor needed to know.

DS2: (pointing to his left eye) here pain; (pointing to a scratch on his head) here pain
Ah ma: later you tell doctor, okay?
DS2: cannot, I don't know how (in hokkien)

My mum was so  :stupid: :frustrated: from the trip.

whenever i ignore ds2 when he is talking or asking for something (eg to switch on the toilet lights even for a short pee), he will go..
ds2: mummy, XX(ds2's name) is talking to you.
