I find that IMM has not much to offer compared to Jem/Westgate.

What do the shoppers buy since most of the shops are branded factory outlets? Items may not necessarily be cheap?

haha...I prefer IMM mainly because Giant is there.
I used to patronize Kopitiam and Daiso in IMM too.
BTW, the Popular in IMM is closed for reno.

For Jem/Westgate, I find it confusing, probably am not familiar with the layout. For grocery shopping from the NTUC there, I would prefer to go Clementi Mall.

Again, this is my personal preference.

(I like to stock my fridge to the brim...)

haaha, I am the reverse. I like an empty fridge. If I stock up, I want to clear the fridge ASAP.

Stocking my fridge gives me a sense of security. I will not have to worry as I have plenty of food at home. I stock up rice, canned food too

Do you cook every day? If yes, its ok. I don't. If I stock up my fridge or cupboard, they will go past expiry date.

So I buy only if I am going to cook.

Yes, it really depends on the amount of cooking you do, and where you live. I am like starlight, I feel secure when my fridge has enough of the basics (not necessarily full!) and I have enough staples for a few meals. I try not to run out and will replenish before I finish the item. I have also lived in places when shops are not as accessible or not open as long as in Singapore, and ready-cooked food is not too easy to get, so I got into the habit of stocking up more. Before that, when I was working full-time in Singapore, without kids and not cooking much, I was like zbear - I didn't like having the pressure of watching expiry dates.

If it is at all possible, try not to buy too much canned food. Maybe you can buy fresh produce and freeze them. Use when necessary. I do not stock my fridge to the brim as well. I stock only our favourite items, necessities and my boys' junk :imanangel: We always have plenty of milk, soya milk, tomatoes and fruits in our fridge šŸ˜‰

I am also one who likes to stock up the fridge and cabinet with grocery. Fresh food items in the fridge are seldom past expiry as we cook Mon to sat. My two growing boys also snap up biscuits, milk, cheese and most stuff pretty fast. I spend quite a lot on grocery monthly  but they do not go to waste.

I also like an empty fridge. I only buy what is necessary for the limited days I intend to cook. And I also want to clear my fridge soonest possible, as I hate to be greeted by a cluttered fridge with perishables that are near their expiry dates.

My family only takes fresh meat and veggies. No fast-frozen meats. Must consume the same day or within the next two days. Hence, not difficult to keep the fridge as empty as possible.

The only things that are constantly found in my fridge are: eggs, fresh milk, yogurt, cultured milk, cheese, honey, fruit juice, jam, butter, oyster sauce, salad dressings, various marinades, ketchup and chili sauce, dried foodstuffs, and seasonal fruits.
