If I remember correctly, the VP told me AHS has no contracted school bus service, parents have to make their own school bus pick up arrangement.

Hi all, i would like to enquire the following on AHS. Can any AHS mummy advise me, tks in advance.

          1. How many sets/types of uniform are there in AHS that i have to buy? I have seen some students in t-shirt, polo shirts, normal cotton shirts etc.
          2. What are the types of textbooks AHS is using for Sec 1 Sci, Geography, History, Maths, Eng, Lit?
          3. Do AHS teachers give out many notes on the subjects? Or it is advisable to buy guide
books for the above mentioned subjects in pt.2. Some of my friends said that teachers will give lot of notes and its not nec to buy guide books but some other friends advised oherwise.

              Hi,
There is basically only 2 types for a start. Full white uniform and PE set. What you see others are student council T, class T, CCA T, which will be advised much later.

As for textbooks, follow the booklist. If you are buying 2nd hand bks, look out for the edition, as some bk are new editions.

I didn't buy guide bk for sec 1 and 2, except the chinese 'chi-yu shou che' as the teacher will provide some notes during lesson.

                  Tks Eddow!

                  U r welcome πŸ˜„
Is your child Sec 1 next yr at AHS ?
FYI, text books at popular is slightly cheaper than the bookshop at AHS, other than Literature book. πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

And to add on, school will have their own guide book (photocopy) you can buy from the bookshop (most of it should be on the booklist. If not, when school starts, teacher will give you another list to buy)

Hi Eddow, my DD will be joining AHS Sec 1 next yr. What about yours?

I’m pretty worry coz this is my first child in Sec sch. Wonder how the pressure will be like. During my years, coping 8-9 subjects is quite a breeze and during then, std is much lower than nowayears. I heard there are weekly tests and stay-late days in AHS. But there will be no mid yr exam. Won’t the students caught off guard when they have to face end yr ecam?

                      HI yeomaylin :rahrah:

I have 2 DS in AHS, Sec 3 and Sec 4 next yr. O level :nailbite:

For their sec 1, I remembered both DS came back quite early, school ends about 2.15pm. If it is not CCA day, they can go off already.

Yes, no mid year, but has tests every wk, and all these tests are accounted for the mid yr marks. The first test is usually Chinese Compo, then English Compo. Very likely in Jan :scared: And there is a parent-teacher meet for mid yr too :siam:

Don't have to worry for term 1. It is a very relaxing term. Just let her enjoy herself with new friends. Till now, my 2 boys are still enjoying life in AHS πŸ•Ί
