I like Hush Puppy shoes but have not been able to find the pattern I fancy.

        sparks:
When I was younger, I could wear high heels & walk for long hours without pain or needing rest. There were simply so many options to buy cheap fancy shoes online or from retail stores.

Now, I have switched to low heel pumps & unable to walk too long without feeling pain in my ankles, heels & sometimes even knees. That's why I'm thinking of 'investing' in a good brand shoes for comfort & durability.

Ferragamo shoes are known for that. I am wondering if they are worth the price or are there good alternatives to the brand in terms of classic look & good workmanship. I love the vara range. Now, they offer customise shoes @ $1090. Think the normal retail cost ~$720? Should I go for customised one or normal size will be good enough? Will the shoes last me at least 10 years of daily use? Anyone can advise pls?
        Hi
By customisation, I think they mean swatching the bows vs diff colour shoes n types of heels right?

        http://sg.asiatatler.com/style/fashion/ferragamo-made-to-order-shoe-project-launches-in-singapore

I saw this in Tatler mag in Aug, but didn't go for the demo at MBS. I don't really like Ferragamo. Threw away 1 pair of Vara before 😞 However, their rubber shoes types are not too bad. Resisted the temptation when I saw them in NY last mth...

I'm into Prada, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Chanel currently. Surprisingly, Prada n Jimmy Choo flats are very comfy.

Chanel is selectively comfy. E.g. their loafers n ballerinas.

Just bought Manolo Blahnik (selling at $1,680 at Taka/MBS). Most expensive Cinderella shoes I've ever owned. But very comfy.

I've Charlotte Olympia too. Nice to look at but not too comfy.

You can try Alexander McQueen, Tory Burch at OnPedder at Scotts Square/Taka.

Sergio Rossi and Stuart Weitzman are no comfy for me.

Some Zara n Christian Louboutin work shoes are very comfy, you would be surprised.

YOu should post this in \"Crazy for Shoes\" thread.

        Cheers

10 yrs? No way. Maybe 3-4 yrs if infrequent wear. 2 yrs frequent wear.

Those Pradas I bought in Italy 3 yrs back have been thrown away. Completely worn out.

Agree that many ‘comfort’ shoes do not have nice designs. Whereas many fancy shoes are not well made, hence not comfortable.

jetsetter, I’m surprised abt your comments on SF shoes, which is very different from what I’ve read/heard. But thanks anyway. I’ve never ‘invested’ in shoes for more than $180, so SF is as far as I’ll go. I hope they can last me at least 10 yr, so that it’s a worth every bit for the health of my feet & is presentable for work.

Jennifer, pain started already when wearing high heels. Hv thot pumps will eliminate the pain but the cheap one I’m wearing currently is giving me pain after long wear. Tks will check it out.

Think u should visit a doctor to examine the pain issue, then buy the type of recommended shoes.

Yea, at least that's why I understood when I read Tatler n Her World. Didn't think they would do personal fitting of your arch/sole whatsoever, if that's what you were saying.

Some tier-2 SF are VERY comfortable, esp those w rubber soles.

I dunno how much you need to walk every day. I need to walk fast a lot from underpass to underpass, from one event to another, sometimes in the open. That's why mine typically last for 3 yrs, not 10. Shoes that last for 10 yrs must be well maintained and of timeless designs. Vara is one of the timeless classics that you shd invest in. I bought my Vara in the late 90s. Today, it's still trendy.

For longer lasting shoes, try Geox, Ecco, Cole Haan.

Dun get Aldo. Not that durable.

Nine West is not suitable for me.

Hv consulted a podiatrist, last yr who recomended me to do an x-ray but found nothing. perhaps it's just wear & tear issue & putting on weight.....
