        PSLE2014:
        My view on indicative COP

        RI : 259
        RGS : 259
HCI : 256 ( can leverage on HMT 3 points max - Min COP will be 253 )
NYGH : 261 ( can leverage on HMT 3 points max - Min COP will be 258 )

On side note and own opinion, both RGS and RI are the cream of the top as compared to the rest. No affiliation with pri schs and no HMT to leverage on. Kudos to these kids who made it thru their own merits !
Do you mean to say that those kids using HMT do not make it to NYGH and HCI thru their own merit?
Everyone has their preference so pls do not discredit the kids who mAke it to NYGH and HCI thru their own merit too! Not everyone wants to go to the RI schools!!!

Why are u so worked up? :siao:

Did I explicitly say that that NYGH and HCI do NOT make it on their own merits? I just put in my opinion here to view that the requirements from RI/RGS are higher. Simple as that !

Don't put words into one's mouth and simply put in !!! to put down RI schs.

Claiming not to be worked up..and sending such a note with !!! :rotflmao:

When there is affiliation and HMT to leverage on, it may be easier to get in to these schs. Bear in mind, I do not put down these schs. Just a fact that with HMT, COP for HCI / NYGH looks as if they are higher than RI / RGS. If HMT is removed totally, COP will obviously be lower for HCI / NYGH.

COP is just the lowest score of the last student admitted. It DOES NOT mean they don't have students with higher score (without HMT) than the schools with higher cop.

Difference of a few points in cop does not mean anything. It just supply and demand at work.

At issue should be the culture and curriculum, given that they have independence in their curriculum design and emphasis.

                      No need to split hair.

If our DC can get in to the so called "top schools", good for us. But perhaps we should also spare a thought for those who have done less well. We need not elevate the status of the top school(s) further.
