Just to share: there will be a once-every-four-years event in 2015 called Victorian Challenge some time in the middle of the year, which is a 24-hour overnight challenge for each class to do something really big. Do look out for it!
Sound exciting! Can shed some light on what 'big' things they can do?

Sure! Without spoiling the fun, the challenge is linked to the number of years since VS's establishment. If I remember correctly, it should be VS's 139th anniversary this year. Past project's include painting large wall murals around the school, collecting 139kg (it was 131kg when this was done in 2007) of toys for charity, moulding 1390 clay figurines, cooking and selling 1390 chicken wings for charity, planting 139 seeds in the shape of the letters \"VS\", creating a 139 min film, etc etc etc. What each class does depends on how 40 boys reach an agreement together.victorian:

Sure sure. Sometimes I am quite amazed with the ideas that boys can come out with. :rotflmao: -
My ds was from a co-ed primary school so I can't help smiling whenever I recall him sharing his Homec lessons during sec 1...a class of boys wearing black aprons and colourful bandanas 'whipping up a storm' in the Homec kitchen.
Sometimes one of the boys would accidentally crack an egg on the table top
or burn the food.
During their Homec cooking exam, they would work in pair. One of them would take the exam first while his partner would help him in washing and cleaning. The reverse would take place in the following week. -
Zhenx, I bet you already have a few good stories to share!
Rainbowie, I'm sure the boys can cook up a storm. :siam: -
Great community here. :rahrah: DS just completed his orientation and had the badge pinning ceremony (so formal!
) Proud that he's now \"officially\" a Victorian. :boogie: -

But honestly, thanks to the Homec teacher, the food can be palatable at times. It's ds' needlework skill that is :nailbite: & Thinkerrrr:
Congrats & yeah, that was when ds first got his badge!Great community here. :rahrah: DS just completed his orientation and had the badge pinning ceremony (so formal!

Hi, anyone appealing for their boys to take HMT ? DS says have to submit to HoD by 9 on Monday, test date on 15. Is there any form or we just have write an appeal letter on our own? Any previous case parents willing to give tips? Thank you
