Another reason could be that 2014 cop for o level being over 250 frightened off some potential applicants. I know of dd friends who didn’t apply because of the high cut-off.

Hi Crester
Thks for replying. What about the hdb carpark? I saw there is a sheltered drop off point, however I am not sure if it leads to the school compound without getting wet. -
lexis:
COP dropped as the affiliation COP increased by 5 points, from 225 (2013 PSLE batch) to 230 (2014 PSLE batch). As a result, fewer places were taken up by affiliated students, thus freeing up more places for external students.
It is good to raise the COP for affliated pupils in SNGS primary higher each year, so that more vacancies are available, are freed up for outsiders to come in, for O level
Not made the COP so low at 220, as in SCGS Sec and MGS Sec last year 2014, where literally almost cut off other students from other primary schools to enter for O level. unless they have very high T-score, as though SCGS / MGS Sec have become an exclusive school for affliated primary school pupils only.
220 is a score that many, many pupils can achieve, easily.
In contrast, outsiders for O level can only enter, at close to 30 points difference !
Whatever it is, close to 30 points difference, is far too much !
Very unfair for outsiders
5 points difference, people can still accept.
But close to 30 points difference, is really way, way out !
High time for Moe to intervene, re-examine this low affliated score of
220 for SCGS.
Otherwise, going to be another similar case like ACS barker Secondary last year (2014), where outsiders were almost cut off, from entering ACS, for O level -

Yes, you can alight yr daughter at HDB Car Park 26 which has a sheltered link way into the school.
It depends which road you take in the morning. -

To clarify, SNG Pri COP is raise from 225 to 231 ( not 230 ).
Quite a number SNG Pri affiliates couldn't qualify, so creating more vacancy for outsiders.
In fact, many outsiders are happy that they qualify for SNG with the raise in SNG Pri COP.
The School Board has in mind to make SNG Sec not just exclusively for SNG Pri girls but to let more non-affailiate students study in SNG. -
The principal had said its 230. How did u know its 231?

It's the main school gate and just as easily convenient for secondary girls not only primary. It is only at dismissal that you cannot drive in to pick up. Only exception is during rain, you can drive in but only like 15mins after dismissal when school buses have left. Rain at dismissal time is a real headache as it is very wet and chaotic at the gates...!

Hi Pandora88
I prefer to wait/pick up at the hdb carpark gate with proper place to park and wait coz the main entrance can get quite crowded, very stressful LOL. -
