My boy showed me a letter on this writing course last night. Confirmed on, subsidised fees $800+VitoRelax:
:? :? :? Hmmm ... I am lost ... I am not sure what you guys talking about ... :? :?
There is a advanced creative writing course (tied with Stanford Uni) running for JH2 students. The sch sent out invitations to JH1 students to see if the response warrants starting a similar prog for JH1 students. If the course is up running, it will be conducted during the mid-year hols. Seems like nothing is finalised as we did not recd any more letters/notices. -

Some of these top scorers were teaching our children in JH1.
And a writeup on some of the top scorers. some are from the IP.

So your son going for this course?

I found out more about the MO training. It's for those ranked within top 30 in year 1 & 2 during the ICMC(Intra-college math competition) held in Feb. My boy is going for this.
Interestingly, Jennifer, he's also not consistent. He was so careless in his Math Test that he didn't do all that well. He made all careless mistakes in the easy questions but got all the difficult questions correct. *haha* That's one of his problems all this while actually, even in primary school. I wonder why. Strange kid. -

Congrats to your boy.
It seems boys are like this. Everytime I complain, he would retort that he has tried his very best to be careful. The most recent Maths test was badly done. I was doing revision with my younger boy then and noticed that my younger boy reads a qn very quickly, leading to higher chances of carelessness. So I told my elder boy to read a qn from the Maths test. My hunch was proven correct- he speed reads the qn. So I told him to try slowing down when reading a qn. Let's see if this method helps. Else I also don't know what to do :x -

My ds2 also did something similar last time in p1. All the short answers & MCQ sections (sect 1 & 2) had drawings/pictures. Could tell his answers were based on the pictures and he didn't read the question, so quite a few wrong. But the Story Sums in sect 3, he got them ALL correct, bc he had no choice but to read those! No pictures!
