I believe the score lower than 256 was on wait list. The phase 2 COP is 256, but some offered CO for phase 2 declined the offer, hence those on wait list got in.
Misty Rain:
If not CO from DSA phase 1, if not Phase 2 meet COP 256, if not appeal case, then what is it ? :?
Either my friend is mistaken or 256 is not the cutoff.
Is 256 from official source? From NUSH itself?
That is provided my friend's ds applied for DSA phase 1 and was put on waiting list.
According to my friend, her ds didn't DSA. (Unless she is hiding something from me.) -

Can they give out offer at Pri 5?
If any it is most likely an indication only and still must officially submit via DSA 1.
I know HCI also recruit students at Pri 5 must never make offer
Doubt MOE would allow any ip school to make offer to pri 5 students regardless how independent they are. -

My ds got co after he got selected for national science olypmaid team in p5
After he has gone 4 rounds of test. He just applied S1 n got in
His son got a CO from NUSH in P5 but rejected the offer.
In P6, he applied for NUSH under DSA Phase 2 (i.e with PSLE T-score). He was accepted under DSA phase 2 even though T-score was below 256.
Then don't say applied S1 and get in.
It is widely known DSA 2 is largely based on tscore, plus any other relevant supporting info -

I hearsay a few such cases but can't be sure of the nature of NUSH offers.
Mine didn't make it to the IMSO National Teams, so was never offered. Cannot confirm what these offers exactly are.

My ds didnt reject the offer because of moe ruling all dc must complete psle.then can go to secondary school. Dc can apply thro dsa or s1.
Thats the reason apply thro dsa n s1( got to wait after psle result moe requirement)
In the school there is a case one of the student who got a "o" level cert. Still nid to sit for psle
He should be in year4.Ps my ds got 4 A in his psle result -
Yes, I learnt that HCI does indicate to P5 boys that HCI is interested to accept them. My friend’s son attended a P5 Chinese camp. This boy is academically strong, and it may be during the camp, his leadership quality prevailed. HCI showed their interest in him, he was offered a CO in P6 (according to my friend, he need not go thru DSA process). I believe for NUSH, it’s similar. If your kid is one of the top students in Math or Science Olympiad competition, NUSH will be interested to offer to him/her too. It is also a talent scout for these schools, to attract talented students.
