      slmkhoo:
There is no perfect school, and it really boils down to what a student makes of a school.

Actually, there's a perfect school for my dd - I see as perfect fit for her. It's also her dream sch. Too bad, she is 2 pts shy of cop. We have decided to move on to her next best choice.

Now, the reality of that 2 useful bonus pts from HMT sets in. If I can turn back the clock, wld I want my kids to take up HMT even though I know how much they dislike it? I think I'll still not want them to take it up. ๐Ÿ˜„

But if the reality is that if higher mothers tongue is necessary for entry into that dream school, then the kids have to take it. Just like medicine is bitter but no matter how you dislike it just have to take it if the disease is to be cured. If don't take, then just have to continue dreaming of the dream school. ๐Ÿ™

You can try appealing? If her overall grades are excellent and she's just short of the 2 bonus points, her case may be considered.

Yes, the 2 points do make a difference.

Tks jtoh, may try. dd score just meets the COP of her 2nd choice. I feel it may be risky to put her dream school as 1st choice. Appeal cases are entirely school's discretion right? Some schools don't even consider an appeal if you don't put it as 1st choice.

hi, i got 12-4 for l1r5 and im considering between aj arts and cj arts. I heard that aj facilites are old and feels claustrophobic, not really a condusive place to study. Plus it focuses more on science which im not interested in. However i visited cj open house and didn't feel like its a sch in which ppl will mug a lot and seem more like a sch which will play more! Distance is about the same so it doesnt matter. which school is better pls advise!!! ๐Ÿ˜ž

CJ has one of the best arts programmes among the mid tier JCs. Would definitely rec CJ over AJ for arts fac. The prelim answer keys printed for their h2 econs students in my year was like a 100 pages long. From my friends, they have really dedicated teachers.
