      bb mom,

I question the effectiveness after a long day in school.
in order not to let the kids stay back another day, teachers jam all on same day, one subject after another :siao:
to be honest, any child will hate that 1 day when he/she has to stay back after school for 3 subjects.
Yah. But if stay back for 3 days, excluding CCA, it's also very tiring cos by the time he gets home, it'll be too late to do anything else in the afternoon. So the kids have to grit their teeth for that day. It would have been better if supplementary class was on Fridays. Alas, that day's reserved for CCA.

It's not compulsory but parents are encouraged to send their kids. And what if supplementary class actually used to complete syllabus? Then die if skipped. So far, the dates given are only for T1. So DH said to let him attend.

Some of my students skip their supplementary class to attend tuition. I hope they made the right choice.

How do you guys practice English oral with DC? DS can speak on and on if it’s something he has a passion in eg gundam, nerf guns, certain sports. But if others, he needs a lot of prompting. Especially if it’s something he has never experienced. And we notice he tends to be more hesitant with teachers, based on his interaction with his tutors.

Can zoom in to weaker components of a full paper or can work on areas for a specific subject that the child seems to have challenges with. Time more well spent and more attention received, in comparison to a full class session for extra supplementary lessons.

                        Hi TA,

I am in favor of students skipping supplementary lessons and attending tuition instead. Tuition is customized to students’ weakness. Rather than attending supplementary which is ‘mass market’, why not small group or better still, 1-1 lessons? Tuition is in a more comfortable environment compared to hot and stuffy classroom after a long day.
