Let’s take 2009 as an example.
No. of vacancies = 270
P1 Take-Up Rate = 36% => 36% of 270 taken up => 97 places taken => left with 173 places.
P2A Cumulative Take-Up Rate = 44% => 44% of 270 taken up => 119 places taken => 151 places left. It also means there were 22 applicants in P2A.
At the end of P2A, remaining places = 151. Of the 151 places, 76 will go to P2B, whereas 75 will go to P2C.
P2B APP = 1% => No. of applicants in P2B = 1% of 76 = 1
Hence, number of places left for P2C = 151 - 1 = 150. Hence, the Cumulative Take-Up Rate after P2B was 44%.
P2C APP = 84% => No. of applicants in P2C = 84% of 150 = 126.
No. of places left after P2C = 150 - 126 = 24. Hence, at the end of P2C, Cumulative Take Up Rate was 91%.
P2CS APP = 233% => No. of applicants in P2CS = 233% of 24 = 56. Hence, as 56 applicants vyed for 24 places, balloting was required for those staying 1-2 km from the school. Those who stayed within 1 km from the school were safe.
Hope the above clarifies! -

Hii all,, just to share, today I went to Rulang Primary to get the PV form, and guess what, there are 210 parents in line in front of me !! :shock: and from the last year PV, there were only 50 that were selected from over 200 parents.
In fact there was balloting conducted even in the Phase 2,thats what I was told. -
hi all, as I understand the balloting for Phase 2 C is done over 3 days.
My older boy is in West Grove Primary and my younger one is due for registration next year. Currently,I will be buying a condo near Rulang.Thus I wanted to apply for my younger boy at Rulang for the Phase 2C.
If my younger boy goes to West Grove, then he will qualify earlier as the sibling is studying there. But for Rulang ,I have to wait till Phase 2C. What can I do ? I want to try Rulang,if he cant get in then I will put him in West Grove. -

Hi!
You should register your younger boy in West Grove in Phase 1 first, and observe the situation for Rulang. Come Phase 2C, decide whether you want to try this school. If you still decide to try Rulang, withdraw your application with West Grove and apply with Rulang. -
My parents are staying near River Valley High and I am contemplating if I should go for West Grove or Jurong West Pri? Based on last yr results for both schools, I will need to go for balloting for Phase 2C and there is no Phase 2C supp for them. This will mean that if I go for West Grove, I cannot backtrack to JW Pri and vice versa. So, can anyone advise which shcool is better? I also need a back choice, any suggestion??? :?

If u r gonna use the grandparents address then both choices are out cause ur case will be considered between 1-2 kms and hence both schools no chance…[/quote]
Oh no… am I reading all the data wrongly. Oop! I thought if I am using my parents address, I am considered under Phase 2C and based on the last yr results, I thought I saw some allocation for it under the APP column but nothing for Phase 2C Supp. Doesn’t that mean that I still have a chance for balloting??? I have also checked that both schools are within 1-2 Km from my parents’ place. I am confused! -

I think you are confused. Your registration phase is not determined by where you live, or which address you are going to use. The registration phase is determined by whether you are in some way connected to the school (old boy or girl, PV, etc.). If you have no connection whatsoever, then you fall under phase 2C.
Now since you are registering using your parent's address, you will fall into the 1 - 2km range. Looking at past balloting history of the 2 schools, they conduct balloting for those living within 1km. So lovekidsverymuch is absolutely right that you don't even stand a chance to ballot...unless circumstances changed and there are not as many registrants living within 1km as before.
