May I know usually when is NUSH open house?

Also, I'm just wondering, since NUSH is for those good in maths and science, does it also mean that quite a fair bit of students end up in NUS medicine course eventually as they are 'stronger' in triple science results? Anyone can share how many went medicine per year roughly? Thanks.
Though I wonder why many people are allured by Medicine course (and for that matter, Law course too), well, for class of 2013, 9 went NUS medicine & 4 went NTU medicine. Do you need to know the 2013 cohort size too? Well, it was about 200. Seriously, the numbers themselves have no meaning.
I hear that tests in year1 n year3 affect the offering of higher modules

Which affect the option of study in year5/6
Those who got thro the tests including winners in year1
Will be offer higher modules in year2/3 ( not sure abt it)
As for marks the average marks in nush is 4/5 quoted by a teacher
Those who r offer honours r being identify during the earlier years by the school
Done by the gifted n talent branch ( moe) in the school

DS1 is doing acceleration for Chemistry now. Does this helps ?

My ds has gone 2 rounds of acceleration tests for maths
Question what does it lead to n when?
My impression is acceleration test for Math is taken only in Year 1. Is there others available in other years ? May I know your DS is in which year now ? Thanks.

So he has gone through 2 rounds of acceleration tests for Math as of now ? Then chances of acceleration should be very high. Did you received any reply from teacher in charge ?

My guess is the 2nd test is to determine which level they can accelerate to. All the best for your DS and do share with us the good news ! šŸ˜‰

As far as I know, last year's year1 only had 2 students accel to year 2 and 1 student accel to year 3.

I think the diagnostic tests are not easy, since they include topics such as Matrix, etc, so for students who are not exposure to such topics, they may not even pass the tests. šŸ˜“

Well, it was about 200.
Seriously, the numbers themselves have no meaning.

Thanks, for kind info.

9 + 4 = 13 (NUS High)

13 is about roughly the same number of Temasek Junior College (TJC) \"A\" level students, that got admitted into NUS Medicine Yong Loo Lin faculty.

(in terms of absolute number, FYI only)

In TJC -
for Science stream : about half of her \"A\" level students will take H2 Physics, the other half will take H2 Biology. H2 Chemistry is compulsory.
They have to choose between Physics or Biology, since 2006 Moe \"A\" level revised syllabus do not allow any Junior College to take Triple Sciences, anymore.
But of course, TJC or any other IP JC has a much larger cohort of \"A\" level students, compared to NUS High (around 170, per batch at Sec 1 intake) So one would expect TJC / Other IP JC, to have more candidates entering Medicine.

But on the other hand, since NUS High is the only institution now that offer Triple Sciences in (Y5, Y6), one would also expect more candidates, to enter Medicine. Besides, there are accelerated program or modules here that lead NUS High students to get their Honors degree faster, which is un-available in the \"A\" level program. But that again depend on whether Y6 students are interested in going there, in the first place.

Whether student come from NUS High or come from \"A\" level Junior College -
All have a common goal. That is, not just to qualify for university entry per say, but to be more specific - qualify for which Faculty of admission ? This is the common goal of all students,at the end of 6 long years, from Sec 1, right up to year 6.
