Imami:
My DH works around there and in fact likes the whole place so much. He was lamenting that we should have gotten a place there instead of the east of Singapore. Thanks starlight and TA.
Wow, that area very well connected hor? There is even a loop shuttle service connecting imm and west gate/jem. -
TheAnswer:
Today is my first n last visit to Big Box. Nothing much there.
This is exactly how I felt too when I visited the mall 2 weeks ago.
I just wonder how long they can survive if they believe their concept works with shoppers. -
zbear:
Not very long I guess. I can literally count the number of people there.TheAnswer:

I've yet to visit big box.
If you like to buy in bulk esp for seafood, I think you will be thrilled on the selection available. -

if he/you folks have been living in the east for years, you all probably won't get used to the west. It's just different, I can't describe.
I lived in the west for more than 10 years though but chose to move out when I got married. -

Everything there seems newer, cleaner, more spacious. More character as well. Things in the west seem more grey and drab. Maybe because I associate it with factories and industrial parks.
Things are changing though. Many things happening in Jurong area. So it's getting better. -
Funz:
Same sentiments. I just feel gloomy when driving around west coast area. Can't explain why

West coast is gloomy…opposite of clementi which is so ‘happening’. Never like west coast side. Jurong east has spruced up after PM’s Magic words…now there are 2 hospitals, 4 new malls there plus imm.
I wonder how long big box can survive. -
Jurong East coffee shops are very expensive too. I ate at one coffee shop in JE Central - all the stalls sell at least $4.50 and above.
I stopped going to that particular coffee shop. -

Even if the price of food has not increased, the amount gotten smaller and this is equivalent of price hike.
