Try reading a simple storybook with him and make it more lively with sounds and gestures. Role playing during stories will help to keep his attention in the story.

Or read a short story to him before sleep. Let him get used to hearing stories and then see the stories and pictues from the books himself

        Hi Mizdior~

Perhaps u might wanna consider sending him for phonics enrichment classes? Or try out flash cards with him?
Or borrow the \"I Can Read\" series of storybooks and read it with him.

        Or play word games:
Write down each alphabet on a small piece of paper or card.
Then try making rhyming words with him eg:
\"H-at\", then switch \"H\" to \"S\" and becomes \"S-at\" etc..

        Hope this helps 🙂

Dear parents, care to share how you find the school so far? Are the teachers patient and dedicated? How is the principal?? Truly appreciate your input as I’m thinking to place my son there next year. Many thanks in advance!

            Hi blackoffee..

Both my kids are in KCS.. I do see improvement from since my first child in P1 till now in P3.. Apart from change in Principal, I think the school is also pushing to higher education standard. Overall experience is good.

Hi, I came across and see that year 2014 application was 109% in P2C, as a sporean living within 1 km, am I quite "safe" not having to go through ballot ?

balloting for PR less than 1 km, in Kheng Cheng primary

If child is Sg citizen, safe !
No balloting involved, for Sg citizen.
only PR staying less than 1 km : need to ballot their luck.

During the stressful registration period, I called the school daily (or 2 hourly) to check on the updates and the school is kind enough to give me prompt updates which include the SG/PR balloting chances.

Thanks to this, I managed to register my dd into KCS at the last hour despite staying more than 2km and no PV.

Also bear in mind the demographics of the area… more condos and BTOs are in progress and I foresee more competition at future KCS P1 registration.

Is there any recommedation for good student care service near the school or Toa payoh area?

                        Thanks a lot.
