I don't remember dd's tingxie at P2 were all in sentences. They were more like maybe about 8 with 2 - 4 characters and 2 sentences. No moxie.

I guess well and good if teachers want to start kids on moxie and tingxie in sentences but need to see what their marking is like.

DS's previous school at P3 had tingxie all in sentences and moxie. Teacher refuse to give the tingxie list, expecting the kids to learn the words from their ke wen. Only moxie is given for kids to learn Fine too since every lesson they have a list of words that they must know how to read and write. Problem is teacher gives tingxie all in sentences and her marking is very strict. There will be about 10 sentences. Every word that is wrong, -5 marks. And that includes words that are not in the ke wen, but may be chang yong zi. Very demoralising for kids. Firstly no idea what will be tested 2ndly, the harsh marking.
No wonder he ran away! 😆

        dream school.

Have you sent in your child's application for transfer? RGPS goes by merit for transfer cases.
As long as the school feels the child is suitable for the school, the parents will be informed once there's a vacancy.

        hi hoo1688,

perhaps you may fill up Rgps Transfer Form, attach your dd P1 results, plus Cca record (if any), plus supporting documents, attention personally to our Principal (Mrs Yue).
Her official personal email is found at the very last slide, here :-

        http://swt3.vatitude.com/qql/slot/u451/ ... 202015.pdf

to download Rgps Transfer form, is here :-
        http://www.rafflesgirlspri.moe.edu.sg/e ... ents/forms

can see that your dd has special, unique talent.
        She can paint, & draw.
She also writes well, for her age.
perhaps may attach samples of her essay writing or painting, to our Principal, too.
If she is currently a role model pupil (mini-prefect) in her current primary school, this may also help.
Character values is something that our school emphasize

          hi hoo1688,
is this your P2 dd painting ?
          Is brilliant, enchanting, beautiful, genius

if Yes, show this to our Principal (Mrs Yue)
The artist has talent, under Visual Arts category
The picture shows a little girl piggy back a school bag, ride a bicycle, to her dream school. She is humming a tune, means she look forward to going to her dream school everyday, happily.

On the right, there is a green classroom or lab door.
This green is the same shade of green : as RGS girls' Green colored-skirt (prefect), same color as RI green.

Ah duh. I also couldn't run fast enough. But truth is his request for transfer was put in since he was in P1. If it had happened earlier, who knows, his confidence in his MT may not be that badly shaken.

Now his school is on the opposite end, P4 then start moxie.

                        hi hoo Papa,

In the event P2 no vacancy : don't be discouraged.

Normally, school will collate vacancies, until end of P3 : where there is a lot of Transfer movement, going on.

After P3 Gep screening results are out in October / November -
those students who cleared either Round 1 or cleared both Round, but with a younger brother sibling : & whose parents no time to do any Parent Volunteer in other schools, they will transfer out of Rgps into co-ed schools (can be either Mainstream or other Gep centre or other co-ed schools, depending on the number of Round they cleared), so as to facilitate their younger brother sibling in time, to be able to register under Phase 1 Sibling Registration, in the co-Ed schools.

So far, seldom do you see P3 students opt out of the Gep Screening test, held in August. Almost all P3 students will participate, take the test.

Then there is also another group -
who transfer out to other affliated primary schools : getting ready to enjoy Psle privileged discount, of at least minimal 10 points difference, between affliates vs outsiders
, in either the \"O\" level Secondary track, or \"IP\" track. (the non co-Ed schools)
Only 1 Secondary school from the \"IP\" track offer around 12 points psle privileged discount.
(250 for her own affliates vs around 262, for outsiders)

                        Thus creating vacancies, within Rgps.
Then outside students from other primary schools got chance to come in, fill up these gap / vacancies quickly.

Total : our school has a fleet of 59 school buses, go all direction to fetch students. Even to remote places like Seletar. School bus transport, is not an issue.
