Unfortunately, yes. That is how school buses operate. And how most student care services operate too. Apparently, they still need to pay their drivers and teachers a salary even during school holidays. So whether it is fair or not depends on which side of the fence you belong to... 😓

Like I said many many years ago in KSP, they can always omit the two months BUT distribute what is due over the other ten months if that would make one feel any better.

Seriously, many fail to see that there is fix cost incurred.

Pay extra - never heard of. Pay for June and dec at the same amount as other months - yes.

sorry,i mean is other school the same?[/quote]Yes ben2112 - in a few schools I have checked or got info of, parents need to pay the bus fee for the month of jun and dec too.

Yes, has become a common market practice, to pay for both June & Dec 2 month school holidays, even though children do not need to go to school.

I read from papers that Transport company find it hard to survive as many schools converted to single session. Previously, they are able to fetch schools which have two sessions; morning and afternoon and those in single session. However, now with limited fleet of buses, they can only chose to fetch one school or two schools (if more than one school, usually children will suffer as they will arrange very early timing).

I heard SBS will also be putting one bus stop near WPS, but it seems quite a distance, not directly at WPS. Worst, the location of WPS is between 2 LRT stations. I hope in no time to come, there will be one bus stop in front of the school. In this way, we can forget about the school bus and take public transport instead.

I think the school bus problem will get worse next year (2016) as more schools goes on single session next year. I remembered coming across some deadline of 2016 for government schools to go single session on moe website before if my memory does not fail me:

              http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/primary ... y-students

              http://www.moe.gov.sg/initiatives/single-session/

My school bus auntie has alerted last week that they have no choice but to ferry in two batches next year. Meaning if you are allocated the later batch, it means you wait in school for 2 hours for the school bus to bring you home even though you are dismissed at 1pm. My kid henceforth decided she rather take the public bus home herself rather than wait in school and I was like :slapshead: another set of problems coming up..... Sighs.

                        Hi,

I’m thinking of registering my child for P1 in 2015. Can anybody advise when do I register for the student care? is there a waitin list?
