DD and RG friends in YR 5, feeling bored as they are waiting for JAE to join them end of month. Now is still honeymoon mood, they feeling bored, where to get some YR5-6 notes on BCME/BCMK or KHEL to read and pass time? now, some just reading econ/philo’s books to pass time …
anyone can share more on KI? Heard it is very interesting and challenging, those who have passion and did well in philo in RGS yr 1-4 will be able to do well in KI and pretty smoothly… pls share input, thanks -

I would like to hear more too (although my daughter is still in Y4). What's the pros and cons between choosing a content subject or something presumably more focused like KI? Will doing KI and an H3 subject be very heavy, too much research etc? And I think I've heard that KI may not be recognised by overseas universities as it's only done in Singapore? Have I got that right? -
When do the students choose their Year-5 subjects combi ? End of Year-4 or beginning of Year-5 ?
Btw… Have Years 1-3 parents already have their level briefings ? No briefing for Year-4 parents yet. Seems rather late this year… -

What was briefed by the P was that KI is still gaining and building reputations with overseas uni, some universities already aware about the rigor of taking KI. Not many students has the ability to do it \"Well\", 3.6 GPA is recommended, of course student 3.2 can try to go for it if they have passion. Apparently, to take KI still have to pass the assessment.. it is very \"high standards\".. certain students really find very interesting and like the challenge of KI. These are very capable and passionate bunch from what I know from RGS…. and the girls like it! :xedfingers:
H3 is not difficult if the student is very consistent with her H2 subjects , but I supposed at most, they will advise max is to take 2 x H3. Do note that KI is only offered at H2,. :hugs: -

The last SMS I received from the school was the one dated 12/1, informing us to log into Stamfird Portal for an important advisory from the Traffic Police.
DS says he isn't aware of any Year-4 briefings for parents either.. -

So, year-4 RI & RGS students choose the courses before JAE students, who only know which JC & courses they're posted to, beginning of year-5 (subject to remaining vacancies) ? -

They're NOT subject to remaining vacancies for subject combis bec I think the school makes every effort to give the students their preferred subject combi, provided they meet the qualifying criteria.
