小六会考的范围是小一至小六的词语。在小六会考中，曾经出现过小三的词语，因此建议家长和孩子复习小一至小六的词语，确保孩子会写，同时明白如何应用。
市面上的词语手册都大同小异，任何一本都对孩子有所帮助。

树老师，请问除了多看model compo,家长怎么能帮助小五准备小六 PSLE 作文?

除了多阅读范文，以及其他同学写的好文章，学生也应该养成写作的习惯，每天写一点，不一定要长篇大论，50至100字就行，写心情、写看法，写看图写话，写造句，想写什么都行。
写完后，让补习老师过目（学校老师很忙，应该没空理你），老师会修改一番，加入适当的形容词，适当的成语谚语，日久自然见功力。
我经常鼓励学生在家写写东西，或丢一些题目给他们，如《我的坏习惯》之类的，下个星期再把这些练习交上。经过改正后，学生会越写越怡然自得，不再词穷。到了小六会考前夕，基本上个个都信心满满，胸有成竹。
一分耕耘，一分收获。同学们，现在就开始奋斗，朝目标前进吧！

Apologies for the wordings in Eng. May I ask why is the P5 HCL syllabus suddenly so difficult? I saw comprehension passages that my girl need to do and 2 passages took her an hour, is this the norm? She was doing fine in HCL from P1-P4 (band 1 grades) but I worry she can’t catch up in P5.

Also, is there a need to know CL syllabus since already studying HCL? I heard the textbook materials are different?

May I ask why is the P5 HCL syllabus suddenly so difficult?

若孩子没有阅读课外书的习惯，平时只满足于课本范围的词语，到了小五那年，便会碰到以上的情况，这是十分正常的，但却必须加以正视，在最短的时间纠正过来，否则小六会考的华文成绩会深受影响。

小一至小四基本上不算高华，因为课本和普华一样，只不过加了一篇深广文章，考试时多了造句题罢了。到了小五和小六，才是真正的高华，因为课本不同，词语当然也不同，考试的出题方式对学生而言有点难度，平时没有阅读课外书的学生会感到力不从心，自然会花更长的时间作答，但所写出答案却不一定是正确的。

is there a need to know CL syllabus since already studying HCL? I heard the textbook materials are different?


建议高华学生也买普通华文课本，并在家里自己练习，因为有些学校只教高华课本，不碰普华课本。小六会考时学生得考普华，分数也会计算在Tscore里，若不私下苦练普华词语，以为拿了高华，普华自然没问题，到时恐怕会赔了夫人又折兵。

It is very difficult to find the appropriate age-specific Chinese reading materials for P5/P6 because most of the books in the library from China are too difficult and the contents/words that they use are too localized while Spore/Malaysian published storybooks are quite far and few. Do you have any recommendations for the appropriate reading materials for this age group?

我建议家长到图书馆的“singapore collection\"架子上寻找一些本地作家的作品，这些作品比较本土味，较适合本地学生。
那里也有一大堆本地出版的学生杂志，经常翻阅里头的作文对学生的语文能力肯定有帮助，也能培养学生对华文的兴趣。一举两得。
