Any one knows for P2 swimming lessons during PE, what type of swimwear do we have to get for the girls? Regular swimming costume (i.e. those like adults/sleeve less types) or those with sleeves ones (not thermal swimwear) are also ok?

Any P2 parent here? I’m a bit confused with the letter from the school. So the girls go to sch in their swimming costume, and wear the PE attire over it, and then the pinafore over? Won’t it be hot? And if need to go toilet before swimming lesson…quite troublesome, right?

For P2 PE swimming lesson : can go to school that day, wearing :-

        - 1 piece swim suit inside.
        Not 2 piece (bikini type)

If can, buy those 1 piece swim suit that come with long sleeves, to prevent the arms of your dd, from getting dark, as the sun is very hot.

        - wear PE T-shirt & shorts, outside.
Fold the pinafore neatly, put inside a plastic bag.
Sew your dd name & class, on both PE T-shirt and shorts, in case they get mixed up, with another classmate.

When reach the pool, remove PE-T shirt, shorts.
        fold them up, neatly.

swimming coaches there will assess you, assign you to join which group (Elementary or Beginners / Intermediate / Advanced group)
At the end of lesson #12 (last lesson) :
P2 pupils take an assessment swimming test.

        bring following
        - goggles
        - swimming cap (if have)

        - sun block lotion
(the sun during 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm time frame : is scorching hot.
Clementi public pool is outdoor type, not in-door type that got shelter, shade)

        - shampoo, bath lotion
        - towel
        - comb
        - rubber band (those who need to tie up their long hair)
        - slippers

        - change of underwear
        - talcum powder
        - plastic bag, to put wet stuff like swimming suit

        - biscuit / some finger licking food or packed light sandwiches
(in case they hungry after the swim, can nibble on their way back to school, inside the school bus)

        - small thermos flask (holick / milo : in case they feel cold, after the swim)

swim 1 hour, inside the water.

          Hehs…Thanks phtthp!

Actually, after asking my question, I had a thought…it might be quite hot underneath all that attire. So probably the regular 1-piece swimsuit might be better afterall. hehs…

The qualified swimming coaches are from Tech Athlete management.
They in charge of a few primary schools' swimming lessons.

The coach will issue different colored swimming cap, to different groups of students : to identify (Elementary / Intermediate / Advanced) stage.

Those P2 who joined swimming Cca on Thur morning 10 am, besides PE lessons :
normally, some of them will be in the Intermediate / Advanced team : because some of these P2 may have taken up Swimming Cca in P1, last year, so they won't be in Beginners class, anymore

may read up more, about Westgrove primary, Kranji primary, under this blogspot -

Hi, my 1st post here. My girl is currently in P4 this year.

I'm looking to share transport/cab to and back from school (mon-fri)

I'm staying near Thomson Garden Estate (Sin Ming area).

I would like to share cab with anyone coming from north (ie sembawang/ang mo kio/bishan) areas. Please send me an email at [email protected] if you are keen to do so.

                Thanks.

                  metz2:

It could be a new arrangement for P4 this year.
I am not sure if this arrangement applies to P5 and P6 this year.

Basically, the geppers will have PE, Arts and Craft, Music and ML/TL as integrated classes with 4E and 4F.
CL/HCL are stated as intact classes like the rest of the core subjects.
                  for next year P3 (2016) -
we continue to use HCL textbook.
All 2016 P3 students will continue to do HCL, using HCL textbook.

                  But come 2017 P4 onwards -
some students can't cope with HCL.
(since HCL getting tough : as go higher up level)
Then, from P4 onwards : will split into 2 group : CL or HCL

So, when school bell ring, to attend Chinese lessons :-
                  quite straight forward.
for (P4 to P6) : either go HCL or CL class.

                    Hi Phtthp,

I am just wondering if the girls are suppose to put on the swimming costume under the P.E T-shirt from home first or to change into the swimming costume in the school before proceeding to the swimming complex instead ?

My concern is that the girls may have difficulty to take out the swimming costume when they visit the toilet (if they are to change into their swimming costume (1 piece) from home first).

I have the same question. Hehs.

As for what to bring, my girl's teacher told them \"No shampoo, No soap\". (i.e. no bathing/showering there. only rinse off, dry and put own PE attire).

They were also informed that they have to wear pinafore during assembly. So, go to sch from home in swimming costume, PE attire and pinafore.

Pupil leave their house wearing 1 piece swim suit inside, plus PE attire outside, & school shoes.

If concerned that your dd need to use the toilet, before their swimming lesson, as she need to wear the 1 piece swimsuit inside her, then may get her to change into her swimming costume One period before the PE lesson is scheduled : as there will not be time to change at the swimming complex changing room.
This is to ensure that swimming lessons able to start promptly, maximize learning.

As the girls only have less than 30 minutes to wash up & change, no time to bathe. Only rinsing allowed, due to limited cubicles available & limited time. The girls can rinse off chlorine, from their body & long hair.

2 piece swim suit are allowed : but it cannot show off their midriff or belly button (bikini type), as this is a school programme, girls need to be properly attired.
