I keep getting this prompt when testing the account setup but I have already entered the password correctly.

Just to add, I have no problem setting up my own Gmail account in Outlook. It is pretty straight forward since it is [email protected]. But DS email ends with mshs.edu.sg, there maybe another layer of security check. That's my guess.

For the school gmail, the password is still the same old initial password. The school ICT commented that user currently cannot change gmail password online and have to be done with the help of administrator at school.

Sorry, cannot remember what's the format for the default password. Isn't birth date followed by initials? Or something similar.

I run into another problem when setting up DS Gmail in Outlook on his MacAir. Had no problem setting up same Gmail in Outlook on my Surface Pro. I tested on Surface Pro, I am able to send and receive emails in Outlook with his school email. However, when I tried setting up the same in his MacAir, I am only able to receive emails, I cannot send out emails from Outlook in MacAir.

I encountered an error "5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. nb1sm10884724pdb.85 - gsmtp"

My guess is I need to select TLS to connect to the outgoing SMTP server but there is no option for me to choose TLS connection unlike in Windows, I can choose TLS to connect to the outgoing SMTP server.

Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks.

I have resolved that issue. Now DS can send and receive emails from Outlook in his MacAir.

I don't have the MacAir with me right now as I am overseas. If my memory did not fail me, you need to click on More options or Advanced settings, can't remember which one. But there is another window that pops up and ask you to set up Authenication for SMTP outgoing server. There is a dropdown list for 3 options. Choose :Using Username and Password.

Key in your DS email address in the username and his Password as in the one mentioned by Dinoegg.

That will resolve the sending email issue. At least it is working for my DS now. Good luck!

I just realized that DS has not collected the Eubiq plug from the vendor yet. It was not available at the time when we collected the MacAir. Anyone has ordered the Eubiq plug? Did you collect yours yet?
