yeah yeah! So far we have positive experiences with the school too :rahrah: At least the teachers we've experienced are very committed and dedicated. So far the same teachers stay for the whole year (maybe there were substitute teachers for only a few days), and I think that is important for effective learning.

pupils must get into the gate by 7.20am every day

try to search this thread for the school bus \"admin\" phone number or you can go visit the school and talk to the school bus co-ordinator

they are going to start building the indoor sports hall and there will be disruptions and inconveniences as some classrooms will not be available

Are they building the indoor sports hall at the previous Nanyang Kindergarten site? Do you know which classrooms will be affected? I quite blur leh...

the indoor sports hall will be built at 51 Coronation Road, which until recently was temporarily used by Nanyang Kindergarten until they moved back to their newly rebuilt premises along King's Road

the affected classrooms are those at the hill top behind the block at 51 Coronation Road. Reason being during the construction period for the indoor sports hall, there will be no access to those hill top classrooms - so might as well renovate and upgrade those classrooms - hence insufficient classrooms

Last time they had the use of the former Farrer Primary School (along Lutheran Road) for the P1 and P2 before the major construction of NYPS was completed a few years ago. But now that place is converted to hostels.......

5.30am is way too early ..... imagine the kid got to get up by 5am....and the reverse journey also take time ---- may be the last to be dropped off ?

if die die must get into NYPS (which is a very good school), then consider moving house lor

IMHO, 5.30 am is too early! Do re-consider, imagine poor kid has to wake up so early for the next 6 years. 2 hrs to commute to school is way too excessive, let the child have more sleep. No matter how good the school is, if your child is tired and unable to focus in class, it all comes to naught.
