      TheAnswer:

Kiasu parents won't quit being kiasu even if they see the actual questions.
Maybe not other parents, but I will stop being kiasu for sure. Knowing what to expect and getting my child ready for it - that will take a huge load off my back.

No lah...I didn't say I am buying 2 copies...some parents who went to popular junction 8 snapped up several copies....and when asked, said they are buying 2 copies....for home and school use. Why do they need to buy 2? Schools will get the the students...super ks :slapshead:

Hi Janet88, I was referring to the parents in the newspaper report, certainly I'm not referring to you. :rotflmao:

I wonder why SEAB made this decision only now. as parents, we would like to see the kind of challenging questions set. although the same questions won't appear again, at least there is some idea...but what I would like to see are the answers which exam markers expect.

Pressure from parents n maybe in the past they don't want parents to challenge them as PSLE is locally set n marked.

          Just my thinking only.

            sorry...just woke up then.
seriously, is there a need to buy 2 copies? are we really living up to be KIASU PARENTS?

Good point. Do the exam papers come with model answers? I would like to see the model answers at least for Science.

According to the papers, the answer booklet will contain only answers for MCQ and questions with fixed answers. (Guess it is due to recent complaints about the science answers being too rigid).

Anyway, the answers that were provided previously were those of the publishers (EPH, SAP). There will always be a disclaimer that says SEAB bears no responsibility for the answers!

The teachers in school should be going through the papers with the students and since they are the ones who have marked the actual PSLE papers, they should know what answers are acceptable. It will be better to get the \" model answers\" from the school teachers instead of relying on answers provided by the publishers. 😉

I think markers have an answer key when marking exam scripts…so I prefer to have a look at those answers. If SEAB wants to release the past year PSLE exam scripts, why not release those precious answers as well? Since there is an intention to release, then release everything…don’t hold back the answers. I always hear teachers saying they want to see ‘key words’…so I would like to know what they are… according to the PSLE markers?

Maybe scared that they will get more complaints if the answers are released?

honestly I really want to know what the markers are expecting...if these are meant as assessment books, then the parents will be marking and can remind their kids, 'hey, this is what markers are expecting. remember the key words.'

Any parent here bought the PSLE exam papers? Are the answers supplied by EPH or from SEAB?

Maybe you should buy from diff publishers and compare answers!
