Hi, would like to share a bit on this. My girl has no music background as well and after the cca interview, she got into Guzheng cca as well. It's a small group and they only accept 9 students from year one last year. Including herself, there are 3 of them who are totally new to Guzheng. Every students have to attend Guzheng lesson in external music school organized by the school (for CO as well). They also need to take the Guzheng assessment (่็บง๏ผevery year. Since it's a small group, everyone has a chance to participate in any events. Think it's a great opportunity.
May I check with you, if we are already learning guzheng from another private teacher other than the external music school organised by the school (ๆฏไธ้ณๅ๏ผ), do we still need to attend this music school's guzheng lesson?[/quote]Sorry, I'm not so sure. You have to check with the school. -

She has 3 tuition days and 1 third language :)[/quote]My girl is copying well so far. But now they are having 3 times a week for CCA because of CNY performance and SYF. I believe even if she joins CO or other CCA and when there is performance, they will have additional practice too. The school seems to focus heavily in CCA which I don't really like. Class work is getting more in year 2 and imagine they having 2-3 quizzes and test next weeks. But if she is happy and can manage, I got no say lor.sg.angel:

Am rather surprise to read that \"without music background\" and \"no guzheng experience\" but gotten into the popular CO CCA n accepted into guizheng CCA as well...(since guizheng intake number is very small)...
Nevertheless....congrats for getting her choiced of CCA... -

At least they give chances to those who are really keen lor. The students need to go through interviews before they are selected. Have spoken to the Shangyin teacher and in fact she prefer those new breed as they can mold them. Don't know how true it is. But anyway, those new students will be performing in the upcoming CNY events as well.raindropsonroses:

Thanks to @sg.angel and @augmum for your quick responses haha yup we were all very surprised because she actually told us that she had sort of screwed up the auditions. But nevertheless thanks for your advice and maybe your children excel in everything they do too... We have decided to pick Guzheng. Thank you...
