If it drop below Sgd even better right? Is a cycle up and down. My mil eve bought AUD below SGD and then it went up to 1.30. She gained a lot. No countries in the world will allow their currencies to drop for long. So if you have extra cash that you don’t need why not?

We almost did not make it for the posb 1.88% promotion. I thought so long we bank in the cheque by tomorrow 28 Feb would be ok but only found out at 3.20 pm today that we needed to deposit the cheque by 3.30 pm. At that time, dh was in another bank waiting for the cheque…he ran all the way from that bank to posb and we made it on the dot.

Same, POSB told us to double check to make sure that the check will not bounce. I muz kudo to POSB staff..service very good and very patient in helping answer some of queries esp old folks, (hence the long queue). Even the security will remind the old folks to sit down, not to stand while waiting. In comparison..citibank 😓 their staff seems so aloof (even for Citi gold customers)

Same here; my mum's very happy with their caring service! 🙂

And they have a new slogan, \"Neighbours First, Bankers Second\".. cool.

Now that you mention it, I noticed an improvement in POSB in a number of areas of late, for example, new pop-up machines introduced just before CNY to dispense brand new notes. Sofa and a queue number system have been implemented to replace the old system where the customers have to physically queue up.

Not to mention that the 1.88% is the first time in living memory that POSB offers the highest FD rate among the banks. The online registration followed by a dropped cheque or electronic funds transfer is the first time that my DH and I need not coordinate our schedules to meet up and be there in person to sign the opening of FD documents.

Citibank is a foreign bank and AMDK :nunchuk:

How come POSB staff at one of the north branch said that cheque deposited yesterday could only clear on following mon, so will not be in time to enjoy this 1.88 promotion. :?
Was adv to pump in cash instead.
It is a good deal... Those put in fresh fund yesterday/today, u still got to rec the full 1.88% interest by 31st jan 2016... So effectively, we are enjoying 2.05%, base on 11 mths deposit period. 🕺

AMDK according to my dh stands for \"AngMo Dua K..\" :censored:

Citibank is an American bank, locals may be overlooked in favour over Angmo.

There is no clearing of cheques on Sat by all banks. To have your cheque cleared by Sat, you need to drop your cheque by 3.30pm on Friday.

🕺 Yes, can say that we are enjoying 2.05% based on 11 mths deposit cos i dropped my cheque only 2 days ago and will receive full interest by 31st Jan16. :dancing: Hey, just in time for next year 2016 CNY FD promo
