      Em Ser:
      Hi Oh My Gosh

I have seen parents shouting at the Teacher over this issue.
      Very Disgusting.
Yes, had witnessed some parents shouting, because they plan for their dd to DSA via ballet into those few Secondary schools. But then they enrolled their dd late to learn ballet, & their girl not quite ready to take exam. But they insist to Tr, to let their dd take exam.
They want their dd to clear Grade faster, So that by the time reach P6, already cleared Grade 5 RAD.

      Yes, disgusting !
Because is not the fault of the ballet Tr.

The route to ballet is not as \"cutsy and fun\" seeing the cute girls dancing around. That's why many girls dropped out of their levels the higher they go. Below are some pictures (some can be quite gruesome) of blisters on the girls' feet when doing pointe. I know the mother of a girl who made regular appointment with her family doctor remove her toenails, so that pointe can be done better.

Ballerinas out there... you have my admiration :)!

Yes, some girls drop out of ballet : before reaching Grade 1 or 2, because they no interest in ballet.

They started out in N2 / K1, K2 initially. After a while, they just not interested anymore

I believe with the new RAD restrictions, secondary schools allowing for ballet as DSA route will make the necessary adjustments to lower their requirements. As for those parents who enrolled their DD late (not because of RAD age restrictions), do not try to push your child too much. Ultimately, if she gets through the DSA, she has to stick to Dance/ Ballet for the next 4 years. It will be very demoralising if she does not have the interests.

many girls get the impression that ballet is a gentle activity. as an ex-dancer, i wud say…that is VERY DANGEROUS thinking. still, enjoyed every single moment of it!

Yes, DD still loves every minute of her ballet classes also. She started end of N2, now P3 and taking her Grade 3 exams. She loves dancing around, at home or even at shopping centres whenever there is a reasonable empty space. It is mummy who is tired bringing her to her ballet and coaching classes every week :rotflmao:
