On the morning of first CA, ds1 declared happily,\"It feels like exams are already over!\" :skeptical: 😓 :faint:

to my daughter, sleep is more important.
just passed her math...a little consolation but she felt as though she got an A :faint:
      tomorrow science ca.

To her, it is a relief that Maths is over.

when expectations are lower, there is less stress on the parents.

when I saw a pass, it’s like striking lottery. next target, bring up the marks. yesterday’s science topical test and 2moro’s science is crucial now.

so true! ds did a mock Chinese test in school. He failed but he was SOOO happy because it was still a few more marks than his previous attempt. He said he would buy himself an ice cream treat because he did so well. 😂

Although CA carries marks, its still not as important as SA1 n SA2.

So it’s ok if u don’t score high marks. U can still work towards improving yr scores for mid n year end exams.

Only Maths Paper 1 came back today. I heard DS murmuring to himself last night...that he feels a bit nervous. He has a very fierce teacher, maybe that's why. He told me at dinner just now that he lost one mark to a 5 marks qns in paper 2, but will still get method marks. Think he is managing his expectation internally. :xedfingers:

Sounds so familiar. DS said the same thing when he regularly failed his MT before he got exempted.

for a child who is weak academically, a pass is an achievement.

because daughter is in a weaker class, her teachers tend to be more forgiving and encouraging.

Achievements, however small, will give her motivation to propel towards continuous life learning. Good that your girl is progressing at her comfortable pace! 加油! :rahrah:

Agree. My DD exclaimed aloud that she's going to think positive - that she passed by a mark (on the dot 50), rather than hear people tell her she almost failed.

For parents like myself, who has seen many moons, a pass is like a star. It makes us feel happy that the children understand their own marked achievement. Small steps like this boost their confidence.

Parents with slower learning children will feel grateful for the little achievements, as it comes. :grphug:
