3）爱护环境 好像对的，爱护环境卫生就比较怪？

我心中的答案是2，但认为3也可接受。为了求证，于是上网搜索“爱护环境卫生”一下，发现这个句子都曽出现在文章和广告中，证明3是可以接受的。

other than memorizing, is there any rule?

I dont think there is any rule. I remembered when I was a student, my chinese teacher created funny sentences to link all those with g together and those without g together. Similarly for those with g and without g.

Maybe other parents or chinese teachers would like to comment on this . Any ways or rules to memorise them. I would love to know too.

I am not very good in Chinese. But I was told if you are taught the correct way of pronouncing the chinese words from the start, it'll come naturally to you whether there is an 'h' after 's', 'c', 'z'. For eg, we mispronounce words like 'sheng yin' as shen yin.

So for those of us who are not pronouncing the words right, I guess have to start memorizing. Don't think there's a rule - not that I know of.[/quote]There is no spoon, instead you have to realize .....
So there is no rules.
It is a matter of habit.
Northern Chinese are better at this.
When you speak these words with emotion, you will definite remember.

There is no short cut. Just listen and speak more. Better if can converse among Mainland natives.
