Hmmm…i think there isnt one website that offers the cheapest rate…coz some of them may have pretty good offers…haha! But most of the time i would book mine through booking.com or hotels.com. both offer quite decent rates…haha!

To check for rates between hotels, tripadvisor will provide a good overview. For the best rates of a hotel, going to the official website of the hotel or brand will be the best, unless it is a independent hotel.

Incidentally came across this free photo site, might come in handy for ppl when deciding which sg hotel to stay in: http://www.hotelsandphotos.com/

So far they have 7 listings, complete with videos of the rooms.

OMG! That's a very lovely site! Seems they have gotten much bigger and better. Thanx for sharing! :celebrate:

You mean ask for reduced rate? I don't think this is possible. But if you mean can you check out early, yes, there shouldn't be a problem. Some hotels may even allow you to do the checkout the night before, then you only need to drop off the keys before you leave in the morning.

AsiaRooms.com closes doors after losing money for seven years :scared:

                TODAY:
In a move that caught its employees off-guard, travel website AsiaRooms.com has ceased operations, citing persistent losses for the past seven years. The 23 staff in the Singapore office were informed of the closure on Feb 25 and told to pack up on the same day, even though the website did not go offline for more than two weeks after.
                Report from CNA http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/business/asiarooms-com-closes/1789228.html.

most hotels these days will slot the final bill under the room door between midnite to 3 or 4 am on the check out day, for customer to check

if no mistake in the bill, customers can just go off without having to sign anything as the hotel will auto charge to the payment card given during check in, unless customers want a copy of the bill showing zero balance. some hotel chains also make the bill available online for download for corporate accounting / expense claims purposes.

plastic keys return - just drop into a box for their recycling

for the same reason I prefer to book on hotel's own website

many hotels these days offer to match lowest price found advertised elsewhere for their hotel, called the lowest price guarantee. Had such experience recently - booked with hotel at $3XX/nite, on the the day of check in, another website show $2XX for the same hotel for the same room type - showed it to the check in staff, citing their lowest price guarantee. it works.

hence there is less need to book through an agency website....contributing to the demise of such website as asiarooms

In China, a lot of hotels will send someone to the room to look around before allowing you to leave, so we always allow extra time just in case we have to wait.
