Is there a reason why she is waking up late? Better check if she has any ‘‘night activities’’!

hey Ivy, i am in almost the same situation as you. only diff is my helper has been with me for ONLY one year. recently, she kept waking up late and my mum told her off.

last night she told my mum she wants to go home, homesick. this morning, she said she wants to go back to agency. i am contemplating to buy her an air ticket and send her home since i dont have time for her nonsense and i dont want to be at her mercy as well.

        such a pain.
PRECISELY! I even bought her an alarm! she does not bother to use & say she use her HP as alarm! I guess she must be playng/ chatting on the phone till late! :nunchuk:

Night activities? how to check? Her hp with her & she lock her door when sleeping. I feel like confiscating her phone...

Hi All, I've joined this Forum quite some time but never active. Currently need some advise with regards to my helper. she's been with me for 6yrs, Filipino. Her current salary is $600 & off every Sunday & Christmas day from 9.30am- 9pm. She's my !st maid and with me till now but what pissed me off recently is she cannot wake up on time every morning at 6am! REally thinking of sending her back but on account that she is with me for so many years, I have to bear her nonsence...

Yesterday, she just woke up late & I told her off, today happen again. I did told her that if she is late, I will deduct $5 & half hr from her time off everytime she is late, but it seems she is not scared.....

Seriously I am very annoyed by her.... how ah???? :slapshead:
Well, if you have kept her for 6 years, I suppose she must have her merits, right? Instead of scolding her, how about, showing care and concern? If I have been with my boss for 6 years, I would expect them to show care, concern, and understanding if I suddenly behave differently... Anyway, check with her if everything is okay at home? Ask her what might had contributed to her waking up late?

The reason is this. She is your first maid, she has been with you for six years - for you, and your kids, anyone else you hire might only be second best - AT BEST!! And then you risk the nightmares of having those not-so-best maids. And the horrible agencies, etc. And also, sometimes, a bit of care and concern goes a long way in instilling loyalty.

            Good luck!

              Dear all,

If anyone is looking for maid, pls don't not employ Naw Kry Sar from Myanmar, PR no. as 0 92497402. She make a false Declaration on MOM biodata and I have reported her to MOM. MOM have notice this case and have a records on the maid data. Now whoever want to apply permit for her, MOM will alert on the system to get reference from the pervious employer.

If you need more details, you could e-mail me at [email protected], i don't think here can share this issue.

Before I go off from this forum, I would just like to pass on what I heard re: Indon FDWs coming back after home leave. To put your minds and your FDWs’ mind at ease. I heard that an FDW went to enquire at their embassy and was told that it is not true that they are being prevented from coming back. The cases involved had some "issue", she was told.

Did the embassy share what issues are they referring to? My friend’s maid’s friend was also prevented from leaving. The maid is not aware of her issue.

I am in dilemma whether to hire an ex-hong kong Indo maid. My current Indo maid has about 6mths before her contract due.

But she has a lot of unknown problems but not big issues like stealing or talking back… she loves to wear my clothes and kids clothes and take pics. Also very slow in doing stuff and not able to understand instructions sometimes.
Any of you have experience in hiring ex-hong kong Indo maids? Are they very arrogant? The ex-hongkong maid requested hp to use at night and also after 8mths to have 1 off day in a month.
As I always hire fresh maids and they all managed to finshed their contract with me. Except the current one if I were to chg her. All my previous maids dun have off days and for hp usage they all use at night n during day time when nobody around. which I cant control.

                        hi fatmamalove,

                        personally I won’t employ ex-Taiwan, ex-hongkong maid or even ex-Singapore.
those who worked in these countries would see themselves as very experienced and may not be willing to listen. those who have worked in hong kong/Taiwan may even enjoy lots of freedom.

as for your present indon maid, I would have sent her off if I know she has been wearing my clothes.
