Did the embassy share what issues are they referring to? My friend’s maid’s friend was also prevented from leaving. The maid is not aware of her issue.

Hi All, I've joined this Forum quite some time but never active. Currently need some advise with regards to my helper. she's been with me for 6yrs, Filipino. Her current salary is $600 & off every Sunday & Christmas day from 9.30am- 9pm. She's my !st maid and with me till now but what pissed me off recently is she cannot wake up on time every morning at 6am! REally thinking of sending her back but on account that she is with me for so many years, I have to bear her nonsence...

Yesterday, she just woke up late & I told her off, today happen again. I did told her that if she is late, I will deduct $5 & half hr from her time off everytime she is late, but it seems she is not scared.....

Seriously I am very annoyed by her.... how ah???? :slapshead:
Curious to know, is she starting to give u problems?

complacency is the only word I can say

I am in dilemma whether to hire an ex-hong kong Indo maid. My current Indo maid has about 6mths before her contract due.

But she has a lot of unknown problems but not big issues like stealing or talking back… she loves to wear my clothes and kids clothes and take pics. Also very slow in doing stuff and not able to understand instructions sometimes.
Any of you have experience in hiring ex-hong kong Indo maids? Are they very arrogant? The ex-hongkong maid requested hp to use at night and also after 8mths to have 1 off day in a month.
As I always hire fresh maids and they all managed to finshed their contract with me. Except the current one if I were to chg her. All my previous maids dun have off days and for hp usage they all use at night n during day time when nobody around. which I cant control.

            hi fatmamalove,

            personally I won’t employ ex-Taiwan, ex-hongkong maid or even ex-Singapore.
those who worked in these countries would see themselves as very experienced and may not be willing to listen. those who have worked in hong kong/Taiwan may even enjoy lots of freedom.

as for your present indon maid, I would have sent her off if I know she has been wearing my clothes.

The 2 ex-Hong Kong maids I know are here cos they cannot make it there.

My maids are all unable to fit into my clothes. But I will not accept them wearing my clothes. They will have to go. I will not take or use my boss’ stationary at work so the same applies.

My hongkong friend told me those Filipino maids who springboard to Hong Kong usually cannot meet expectations…or else they cannot save money because of weekly day off. The shopping habits of those maids working there create peer pressure for those who are new.

So in the end, though these maids are enjoying higher salaries but have no savings. Hong Kong employers don’t spoon feed. When maids screw up, off they go.

My maid is small size, while I am on larger side. that’s y she can wear it like so so sexy top lor…My friends all say I very lenient I only got to know last year end. so thot of early termination her since she already worked for me one year.

So ex-hkg not so good ar…
Then I better stick to ex-msia indo maid.
Intially thot of getting philippino but they always create a lot of problems for the family from what I heard.
Nowadays getting maids is so difficult. Esp good ones…N the agency fee is so high…have to think really carefully as want to make money worth at least for the two years.

I had an ex maid with experience in Indonesia. Not too bad. The household only have 1 maid so she has to do everything and the employer had high performance expectations.

                        Hi Fatmamalove

Maids wearing employer’s clothes is undesirable behaviour.

My fren told me ex-hk and ex-taiwan maids are too used to the comfortable life over there.

It seemed experienced maids usually will not follow employer’s instruction and insist to do things their way.

Anyone can share how employer can go about to handle experienced maid who refused to follow employer’s instruction.
