Yes its good idea to atleast check with Police and it would be really bad for us that u have to transfer no choice :x see if be any means u dont sign the transfer papers and just send her bac?

Too late, think i signed one stack of papers and transfer form was inside that stack too. I know this agent and had some dispute some years back. Just dnt want to go against him this time.... I went back to him cos his service was good n he used to be quite qood at making maids stayon the job but after 14 years I think he has changed to be rather mild with the maids. transfering 4 times was unheard of in the past even 3 but now times have changed. I know he will ask me to pay the loan if I insist on sending her back after all the maid can work but like she told me she hopes to find a suitable home. In other words.... come to spore to choose employer. So poor me, I had to pay 200 service charge plus 300 insurance and another similar charge for the replacement . Not forgetting my quota.

Anyone know how much would be the estimated cost to install CCTV where can view with a computer with internet access? Purpose is to see what the maid is doing.

I install my CCTV for $1200 for 4 cameras and allows internet viewing. Don’t wish to waste this money but no choice I have no one at home.


Carebear and Andaiz, yes finally found a good helper but its just the beginning of a 2 year contract. I hope her good attitude can last and not just for show. Another thing I realise its that an older maid is actually better in attitude and minding kids. My this current maid is 30 and is much older compare to all my other maids. Thinking not so childish.

Moonee, hey don’t despair. I go through hell with maids before. Don’t worry you are not the only one who has to pay and pay. I paid alot too to get this current maid. You will hit jackpot one day for sure. My previous "gila" Myanmar maid loan of $2000+ still not return to me yet. So I m also hoping real hard to get back the money soon! Once I get back this money, my nightmare will truly be over. I understand how you feel. That’s why I hope more employers will also write to MOM to limit the transfer. Am totally supporting Tamarind’s blog and her idea of pressuring them to help employers.

She puts items right in front or rag over it, act blur when confronted.

Just sent my maid back to the agency on Satirday. On Friday morning, FIL found a note with our address and Malay words outside our door. Initially we thought it was written by our maid and placed outside. We asked why she did that. She said it was not written by her. Then we asked who wrote the note and the contents. She refused to tell us. We felt it was freaky that someone would come in the middle of the night and leave a note for her outisde our house, so we decided to send her back to agency.


Took a transfer maid, this will be my third maid in less than 6 month. that this one will be ok.

If the maid knows she's being monitored, she is less likely to try something funny.

I think your friend has to address this with the maid. If it were me, I would tell the maid straight off that everytime she put items to block the view, I have to assume that she has something to hide and therefore will have to restrict her movements, her handphone (if there is) and search her things. Give her reason NOT to hide.

Hmmm, if there are video footages of her looking into the camera and smiling, honestly I would get a bit worried.

mummy of 2....have you found out the content of the notes (assuming you still have it? :roll: ). Not sure if sending the maid back to the agent would solve any problem.
