About 3 to 4 weeks? The doctor says actually the thyroid medicine, Camazol, also has the effect of slowing down heart beat. So I will stop Propanol and see how it goes.

Actually I took Propanol continually without checking my pulse rate. I happened to see the doctor again yesterday for a cold and he measured again. So maybe my pulse rate could have already been at 70/min for some time without me realising it.

u hv a blood pulse measurement gadget at home to monitor?

I was surprised to see the Omron meter recorded 130. I do not feel my heart pounding that hard at all 😂

Did your GP give you the go ahead to stop Propanol?

        Do you do exercises?

Mine is a GP who gives me Camazol. Wonder what the difference is.

My pulse rate was 120/min prior to taking Propanol. The last I checked, yesterday, it was 70/min.

For how long did you take Propanol before the pulse rate becomes normal?

My GP/specialist required me to take Propanol for about 2-3 weeks as the heart was really beating too fast. I would take a blood test quite soon for the doc to assess if the camazol dosage needed to be adjusted. They normally gave high dose in the beginning.

I don’t have any pulse monitor at home. The doctor measured it for me. Now that you mentioned, I used my father’s blood pressure cum pulse monitor a week or 2 after taking Propanol and it was 98/min, so every week drop 10 beats/min.

The doctor didn’t give me many Propanols actually. He only gave me 5 days of supply. My sister had a lot leftovers so I took hers. The doc said I don’t have to keep taking already since 70/min is normal. I can always resume taking it if my pulse rate goes up again.

Mine is 4 tabs of 5mg Camazol.

I now have 120 tabs of Propanol (2 tabs twice a day), 100 tabs of Thyrozol (2 tabs every morning) and 120 capsules of Selenium (1 tab twice a day).

The selenium has a awful aftertaste.

my father takes carbimazole to reduce the amount of thyroid hormone while I take thyroxine.
