How was reunion dinner? For us - a lesson of family tree

Since 2 years ago, I started teaching dd on the preparation of our 2 signature dishes. Last year and this year, she even cooked one of the dish on her own, under my supervision and instruction. She also helps out in the washing up. I strongly feel that, she must master our signature dishes and pass it on ..... 家传菜 :lol:

This year, my fil's family went to my parents' place for the reunion dinner. My sister and her husband took charge of the food. My husband and I took care of the expenses needed.

All of us have a fun time.

So nice to read about the huge family reunions on this thread. Thei is what Chinese New Year is all about!

Before my BIL got married, we would have combined CNY reunions with my IL and my family.

After my BIL got married, my IL didn’t want to "host" the new set of IL as well…cos the are a bit more "branded" and would not appreciate home-cooked meals as much as my "humble" family.
Oh well…so these days, we just book a table at the restaurant and enjoy a more "senang" dinner out, my IL, my BIL’s family and my family.
No "outlaws" invited anymore.
