I have no issue with caffeine…it’s the milk. Hubby used to put condensed milk in the coffee every morning (my ah chek coffee is a must). But don’t know why I get tummy ache and bloated recently…since at home no problem with any kind of ache. But ‘big biz’ kind of tummy ache outside is best avoided.

Perhaps you are lactose intolerant? Some types of dairy products may contain more lactose than others. My husband has been lactose intolerant since he was young, but it's been getting worse as he gets older. He has always avoided foods with dairy, but by the time he reached his 40s, even very small amounts would cause discomfort. For the last several years, he has been taking lactase tablets whenever he eats anything that contains dairy. Although he is very careful, there is a lot of hidden dairy in food. -

dairy products are hidden in food. i could be lactose intolerant, since i cannot tolerate milk shakes and fresh milk. so calcium comes in the form of capsules (since i have problems swallowing tablets). it is only recently i cannot take condensed milk in coffee and tea.

You can try eating lactase tablets when you eat dairy foods. Avoidance is still better, but sometimes you can't avoid or the dairy is hidden. We buy them from overseas as we can't find them in Singapore.hi slmkhoo,
thanks:)

slmkhoo,
now that I know I am lactose intolerant, I try to avoid milk and other dairy products to reduce the discomfort esp when I am outside. that bloated feeling is really terrible. -
slmkhoo:
I was about to ask where to buy the tablets.

We've been getting \"Lactaid\" tablets from Vitacost, but I guess they are pretty much the same. I don't understand why pharmacies in Singapore don't carry lactase tablets considering that lactose intolerance is quite common in Singapore. The only ones we've seen come with other enzymes and probiotics, not just lactase alone.Jennifer:
