Mummies,
If your kids are in lower primary, no harm getting the PE tops. As for younger kids going P1 next year, it may not be a good idea since you won’t know which house they will be under. -
One of her p2 friends, not her classmate, received the 50% offer too. Strange. Just got some dates from her. Maybe my dd was missed out, somehow. I may get more socks since she changes daily and they seem to loosen or wear out quite fast.

E3:
hi E3,
Many were caught unawares for P1 SA1 Math. My daughter managed the 90s range. Still, after that, I let her do more higher-order-thinking questions as those were the ones she was not so exposed to then. I overlooked this area last SA1, thinking that the school would not be so 'mean' to the P1s but well...I underestimated the school's standard. :slapshead: Learnt my lesson so was anticipating the 'higher' standard for CA1 this year. Somehow, for SA2, the papers were 'kinder' and probably everyone would be more prepared by then.
jts, a friend told me that schools tend to push the envelope abit with SA1 because it carries less weightage than SA2. They can then afford to be a bit more experimental with the questions. Of course, the more difficult paper is also a platform to sieve out the outstanding from the average joes lah.
With SA2, they have to be kinder as too much is at stake with the higher weightage. also got to give the \"late bloomers\" a way to make good. -
northernlights:
Hi northernlights, I agree with you. That's why parents are still preparing lots for the lower %age exams. However, I feel SA1 is ultimately their first exam, and having to sit thru one and a half hour can be really draining for some P1 kids. Also, P2 CA1 being only 10% was quite a big jump from P1 SA2 as all papers are out of 100 marks. The average for P2 standard was in 70s range for all subjects.

Parents of higher primary kids,
Does the average % for the exams start to drop the higher level they go? Seems like in P1, standard average for SA1 & SA2 were in 80s range. Now P2, CA1 is 70s range. Wonder the trend goes on for P3 onwards, if so, it’s really demoralising for the kids. By the time P6, scary to see the average at only 50-60s! This means many kids would be failing! -

I emailed to the school administrator regarding Term 2 calendar…finally it’s uploaded…strange that oral exam dates are not indicated this time. Just emailed to ask for the dates.
From what I see, April will be a busy month since CL/EL paper I will be in early May, followed by actual papers in the following week. The papers will be back-to-back. Such a change as compared to prev years when there was a break in the middle. -
Thanks Janet for checking up on the dates. My dd’s teacher gave out the bookshop offer slips to the class yesterday. Looks like the sale is on till end of the year.
