Just the physical building being delayed....woodgrove:
Parents expressed their displeasure at the betrayal of trust for the delay in the building
Is the new JC delaying its opening to students already in the pipeline or just the physical building being delayed ?
When Hwa Chong was born its first year was even in NJC ground -
When is the pioneer batch for the JC supposed to begin?
Surprised they have not even named the JC... or is it called New IP JC??

Just the physical building being delayed....[/quote]So don't think is any big issue. Perhaps a little inconvenient to those living near to the permanent JC address but a boon to those near the temp campus.pirated:

It is not all bad to every one -
I used to travel from thomson area to mt sinai. back at my time, either you take bus from along macritchie that stretch of road and alight just after holland v. It’s a short 5-10 mins walk in.
Or you take MRT and go one big round to Buona Vista. Those time there was no Circle Line. So gotta change train at Raffles Place. Today, there is direct train from Bishan to Buona Vista, less than 20 mins. And then another 10 mins stroll to Mt Sinai. -

you are so funny. -
Most parents signed up based on both the "hardware" and "software". Distance was a big consideration. School days these days are more hectic and longer than those days!

MOE probably didn’t anticipate all the structural challenges?
Someone said it was due to the Thomson mrt line but that one cuts thru Bishan Park from Faber Garden/ Ai Tong, not under this Golf Academy.
It could be becos of the NS expressway next to it.
Someone also mentioned it is gonna be a tall green building designed by the GBTB architect is it true? Maybe he was asked to make changes to the design like reinforcements becos of the concurrent building of the expressway? Maybe they discovered tt plot of land is soft and swampy? -

But we mustnt take Bishan as reference point as many live in Yishun and NE too. So its not that direct. -
Definitely there is some inconvenience involved.
But it looks like except for the latest 2015 IP students, those prior to that cannot say that they chose these 3 IP schools based on the knowledge that the New Govt IP JC will be built at Bishan.
