          Do you know of any students who have gone into SST, what’s their feedback about the school, their teachers & curriculum?

          I heard their COP is only 23x, not very high…

            How many people have gone through PSLE without all these Adam Khoo talks? I don't believe in this kind of seminar...it just tells people that 'you can do it!'...parents can encourage their kids...no need to spend few hundred.

            i think all the motivation talk are hot air... all are waste of time lah... but kids like because can go there make friends!! :roll:

              My personal view is rather sceptical about such talks too, but a friend of mine recently told me that his daughter, now 17yo, attended an AK talk a couple of years ago, and he has seem improvement in her attitude and behaviour. So I guess it works for some.

                    Please help

                    Irene had a total of 1686 red blue and green balloons for sale .

                    The ratio of the number of red balloons to the number of blue balloons was 2:3

                    After Irene sold 3/4 of the blue balloons and 1/2 of the green balloons and none of the red balloons she had 922 balloons left

                    How many blue balloons did Irene have at first?

                    You can refer to
                    http://www.onsponge.com/forum/35-thinki ... g-unchaned

                    Before
                    Red : Blue
                    2 : 3
                    Multiply by 4
                    8 : 12

                    Red -> 8 units
                    Blue -> 12 units
                    Green -> 2 parts

                    Change
                    Irene sold 3/4 of the balloons,1/2 of the green balloons and none of the red balloons.

                    After
                    Red -> 8 units
                    Blue -> 1/4x12 = 3 units
                    Green -> 1/2x2 parts = 1 part

                    At first, total of 1686 red,blue,green balloons -> 8u+12u+2p = 1686
                    20u+2p = 1686 - (1)

                    In the end, 922 balloons left -> 8u+3u+p = 922
                    11u+p = 922
                    Multiply by 2
                    22u+2p = 1844 - (2)

                    (2)-(1)
                    2u = 158

                    Number of blue balloons that Irene had at first = 12u = 158/2x12 = 948

                        Here are 3 more tips on tackling the grammatical traps!

                        4. subject verb agreement: neither/ either of
                        Following the rule for questions with of:
                        1. Box up 'of'
                        2. Look at 'neither' (which means none) and 'either' (which means one)
                        3. Hence the answer will always be singular

                        Neither of the horses is ill.
                        Neither of the twins wants the cake.
                        Either of the boys has the keys.

                        5. subject verb agreement: neither...nor/ either... or
                        I often ask my children whether they see the word \"of\" used with neither and either. If they do not, then we will look at the noun/pronoun before the blank to determine the answer.

                        Neither the boys nor Jane is at the fair.
                        Neither Jane nor the boys are at the fair.
                        Either you or your parents were driving yesterday.
                        Either Wendy or I am helping the old folks.

                        6. Clauses giving extra information (e.g. Ben, as well as his brothers, is happy.)
                        Do not be confused by these extra information! simply cancel away the extra bits and your answer will be clear as crystal.

                        Ben, as well as his brothers, goes to school every day.
                        Mr and Mrs Tan, together with their son, were cooking for the party.
                        My brother, along with his classmates, is at the park now.

                        Simple tips that will make a big difference 🙂 all the best!
                        Thank you so much
