Next year Year 5 is still compulsory. But was told will utilise some of school funds/donations. Probably after that not compulsory anymore. Even with EESIS, it's still a big sum if you have 2 kids going boarding. It's like having another car šŸ˜“

      Two? Twins in Y5?

While $300 is not a small sum, look at it as the price to pay for Life Skill enrichment. Also, there should be some savings in utilities and food since the child will not be home most of the time.

      Twins ? :faint:

Life skill enrichment ? Not neccessary only to boarding, I have many \"life skill enrichment practicals\" at home too. Mine include dish to laundry washing, laundry hanging and folding, vacuum cleaning & floor mopping, toilet cleaning, bedsheet changing, cooking, car washing, etc ... Full training provided and it's all free of charge. My boys are already \"fully-equipped\", now they will ask \"What's my housework duty today ?\" :rotflmao:
dagong99, can my kids \"board\" at your house for some days?
After staying in hostel, DD realises how \" totally spoilt\" she is.

šŸ˜‚ My house only has 3 bedrooms, the boys take up 1 each.

Mine, too, realised how \"spoilt\" they were after our domestic helper left. Now they know what is \"hard work\", they say \"study better\" šŸ˜‚

One day , your DILs are going to thank you
 I guess it's probably because DH has set a good example by cooking dinner on most days while I am busy with other housework after we come back from work. So no excuse for the boys to say no. šŸ˜‚

But I agree it takes time and patience for us to \"guide\" them. When they first started, :slapshead: Now at least it is \"decently\" done although sometimes, they will 偷懒 too. šŸ˜‚

Maybe more \"peace and quiet\" plus more freedom than with Daddy around? šŸ¦† :siam:

Actually, it's Daddy who enjoy some 'peace and quiet' when he's not around!! šŸ¦†

For next year; is the decision already made concerning yr5 boarding ?

Last heard from DS is that no decision yet. But my DS very "boh-chap" on this topic so maybe his "news" not that updated.
