There only one Bishan JC so I don't think people will be mistaken, unless some egoistic hypocritical parent has intention to deceive by saying my DC is studying in the JC in Bishan?

But this kind of confusion should be rare. For example Jurong JC and RVH are both JCs in Jurong. DHS, VJC, TJC are JCs in the east etc...

True. No one will call RI as 'Bishan JC' when referring to Raffles Institution since it's such an established and iconic name here.

Read some poignant remarks by students on not having an identity (new JC is always referred to as the \"Govt JC\" in official memos).

MOE and that Mdm Cheang should quickly embark on a major \"Brand Identity\" exercise. I dunno what they are waiting for! The 3 schools are like 没名没份的一团散沙。There's no sense of belonging and ownership. No wonder everyone wants to quit liao.

Besides giving it a name, school could engage some brand consultants or talented alumni or students to go design a nice badge, uber fashionable uniform/jersey/PE attire, brainstorm for a good MVV and school motto, and get everyone to vote...

Also, why not commission songwriter like Liang Wen Fu 梁文福 (CHS boy) to compose a nice school song too?

I totally agreed with the above... My ds told me one of the boy ask the new jc head if the jc name is confirmed as New JC... These boys think much more then we give them credit for...

I shown my ds some of the posts here.. His reaction is why should we go to another jc... We have our own, even if it means going to wherever....

I suggest taking bus/train in the morning from areas like amk, yishun to the mt Sinai site to record the time taken and traffic condition. Also from 3 pm to 8 pm back to these areas and probably record the time taken to walk from mrt to the site. Some suggest the areas is unsafe , probably can take pictures at night to study the area . Jc students finish school much later than the primary school students .

Heard from an affected parent who went down at around 9pm+, she found that few blocks of flats around that area had been torn down and now, that area is quite deserted at night with foregin workers loitering around, very different from the vibrant Ghim Moh/ Mt Sinai many years back.

She is concerned about her daughter's safety if she needs to stay back late after CCA.

No wonder it's taking the school so long to come up with a name for the JC. It really isn't easy and you have to satisfy the wants of three different parties. Not easy at all.

Has the school sought the feedback of the 3 parties for naming the JC yet? :?

I'm sure the committee has considered it. The principals and representatives of the three schools meet on a regular basis to decide on curriculum and admin issues.

I hope it's not, cos Bishan's nothing to do with the 3 feeder schs' heritage at all. Affected parents : please VETO against \"Bishan JC\", and \"Sin Ming\" and \"Bright Hill\" and \"Marymount\" too.

How about have something frenchy since 2 out of 3 have French Founders. So can consider something atas like Collège du Parc or L'Institut du Jardin? :rotflmao: Sounds like some spa salon or Michelin-starred restaurant in Bishan!

Trinity Junior College sounds very prestigious, like Trinity College in Cambridge. But I dunno if the new govt JC is gonna be secular and whether there'd be a Chapel in the compound and it'd continue to provide \"time off\" for students to go for cathechism? Unlikely right?

Tripartite Junior College will make it sound like a school grooming kids to form unions to go on strikes!
