If I am not wrong, it is during the teacher parent meeting.

May I check when is the next \"season\" for scholarship application for Year 5 & 6 category ? DS1's scholarships \"expiring\" end of this year. Thanks !

Towards the end of Y4, possibly in Nov/Dec period the school counselor will email all Y4 students scholarship like MOE Pre-U scholarship, In Jan following year there will be A*STAR, DSTA, YDSP and Police scholarship for Y5. Not to worry.

Along the way, few selected students will be informed if they are selected for LKY Maths n Science or LKY All-round excellence Scholarship. Outstanding students in Maths/Science may also be award the NUS High Tay Eng Soon Scholarship (given on Speech Day annually).

For good students, plenty of nominations (and final awards) that's for sure. However, students may have to choose between awards that are mutually exclusive for 2015 (eg those accepting DSTA scholarship have to forgo A*STAR awards etc). This is a new condition for DSTA/ ASTAR b'cos the awardee have to decide which attachment(s) to go for in Nov/Dec period. So very good student should not apply for DSTA scholarship if they are sure of getting A*STAR awards or vice versa.
In the past, there are student(s) who are awarded MOE, DSTA, A*STAR
scholarship concurrently but it seems now a day this is now not possible.

This year a few DSTA awardees ( DSTA scholarship awards were announce and accepted 2 weeks earlier) are told not to accept A*STAR wards because of mutual exclusive condition ( REP attachments).

MOE and NUSH scholarships are not affected by this mutual exclusion condition.

All scholarship awards are likely to be announced by end April/end May period.

26th, next Tue, transcripts will be distributed to the students, online transcripts will also be available later for view after they have uploaded into espace.

As for the exam results, the students should know when they checked their scripts yesterday and today.

Only DSTA and A*STAR awardees have to compete for student attentions (Research attachments in Nov/Dec period). That's why the mutual exclusion clause.

Between A*STAR and DSTA, which is better ? really up to DS's aspiration. ASTAR awardees are naturally potential future A*STAR undergraduate scholarship holders - with more choice in research fields, physical as well as biological sciences.

DSTA - purely defence science, physical science area only.

                        Just my little contribution.

EESIS is automatically given, each year from yr 1 to yr 6 based on results.

Below are some of the scholarships/awards/prizes that I am aware of; there may be some more.

In upper secondary, the following are available,
                        MOE upper secondary
                        YDSP
                        AStar upper secondary science award

                        In JC years:
LKY ARE & LKY M & Sc ( for achievement in secondary years)
                        MOE JC scholarship
                        DSTA JC scholarship
                        Astar JC Science Award
Spore Police Force Book Prize ( given to Yr 6 students)
                        Singapore Armed Forces,
                        MOE/ RSI scholarship
                        MTI scholarship
                        EBD scholarship
Tay Eng Soon, ( NUSH only)

For Astar, students can apply for REP exemption if they have participated in MOE LSAP and was attached to a AStar lab during year 4.

Chances are high for NUSH student to do their ARP in one of Astar lab and hence could also exempted from the REP

For DSTA, the research attachment can be exempted if there is no suitable programme available.

DC told DSTA during interview the strong interest in a particulate medical field and it does not stop DSTA from giving DC the DSTA JC scholarship and was exempted from Research attachment.

DC currently in yr 6 and has received 6 scholarships/award/prize for JC years.
