Manuka Honey

Funz:
For manuka honey do not use metal spoons and the honey should be taken with room temperature water, not hot or cold water as all these destroys all its antibacterial properties.
Cannot use metal spoon? I only know cannot use hot water.
Some even say honey should kept in glass bottle instead of platic bottle. Dunno true or not. -
Funz:
 Metal spoon. Ok, finish liao - last few years, we've only used metal spoons.
Do not keep honey in the fridge. It should be kept in a cool dark place. And pure honey will not turn mouldy or go sour and they normally do not have any expiry dates.Blobbi:
Wah Andaiz, that's a lot of research. Thanks!
I finally got to my fridge to check my half used bottle - the brand is \"Manuka Health, New Zealand\". Sounds like it fulfills Andaiz's list, whew.

The hot water makes sense to me. I avoid using hot water, only luke warm water. Tks for reminding me/everyone. -

Manuka honey apparently retains the antibacterial properties up to 40 degrees celcius. Metal spoon changes the structure of the honey so use plastic or ceremic (soup?) spoon.
Not sure about the glass bottle bit but the ones sold in Nature Farm are all in plastic bottles leh!

Need an even bigger fridge if we ever move.
Do any of you watch Michael Smith's 'Chef At Home'? I love the way he stocks up his pantry ... wouldn't it be fantastic if we could do that *envy* -
