      sexy:
      1) If for past history the school only ballot within 1km for phase 2A2 onwards so does that mean that I don't even stand a chance to ballot if my address is within 1-2km? I'm under phase 2B.

      Yes.
      sexy:
      2) If I'm out under phase 2B I will drop to phase 2C. So am I right to say I still won't get a chance to ballot in phase 2C as well?
      Yes.
      sexy:
      3) So should I appeal or choose another school instead? If ever I need to appeal, at which phase do I appeal? After 2B or 2C etc?
You may place your name in the waitlist immediately after balloting, but schools will usually encourage you to secure a place for your child first in another school.

There is no such thing as appeal. The registration process is transparent, so on what basis do you want to appeal? There is such a thing called waitlist, though.

        HI,

Looking at the stats, It looks like I stand a chance for 2016 registration for 2017 P1 entry either in ACS Primary or SJI. But my husband thinks otherwise and wants to move in with my parents plc in Serangoon so tt we stand a better chance for St Gabs.
Can I hear from the experts on what you think is a good idea?
Ballot under Phase 2C for ACS pri or SJI or move into Serangoon for St Gabs.

        Pls advise.
        Thank you.

Do note that if you move in to your parents plc, you will be required to do a SD (Statutory Declaration) with MOE. The catch is that even if your parent's place is within 1 km of the school, you will still be placed in the 1-2 km group as you have a SD. Thus if the choice school is balloting within 1 km, moving to parents' place does not provide you with an advantage. Nevertheless, you may want to just do a SD first and play the wait-and-see game as the 'stock market' starts during phase 2C registration.

If you move in to your parents' place, why do you still need to do a SD? You are effevtively staying with your parents, and should change the address in your NRICs to reflect your parents' address.

                That's a very good point, qms šŸ™‚

since you are effectively staying there, you won't have to make any declaration like what qms mentioned.

Why bother? Historically, St Gabriel goes all the way to Phase 2CS. Even for last year, all applicants got in at 2C. So there is no need to change your address, nor move into your parents' place to get in.

If St Gab's historically goes into 2CS, then go for balloting at ACS or SJI Jr, you may just stand a chance...
