I include the translated version right below the English version so it looks something like this:

English version of rule 1
Bahasa version of rule 1

English version of rule 2
Bahasa version of rule 2

I do the same for the timetable so that there will be a consolidated cover page for the entire week with annexes of the daily timetable with translation next to it.

I just got a new maid and have the similar query. But the problem is she don't even know to write in her mother tongue also

Its only a week she is with us. As i am working 12 hrs i need her to fetch/drop my 2 kids from school, tuition, etc.. I am worried how would i manage if she cannot write on her local language? Also, as i have only 1 hr time with my kids on my 4 working days before they go back to sleep, i need to spend that valuable time by checking home work, timetable or other important study matters. I cannot always tell her what to do the next day...Seems she also don't got a strong memory.

My son in P4 and daughter in P1 and i need a more independent maid to help me until my son's psle. I am confused if i am rushing her too much. Please suggest if that is ok to replace her now or can give her a months time?

For families with maids and no adults at home, may i know what type of Safe-Box you used?

Were there any cases of maids ‘hacking’ into the Safe-Box and stealing the valuables?

Lastly, are there any good brands of Safe-Box anyone can recommend? Perhaps something that can ‘lock’ if there are repeated failed attempts to open the Safe, similar like our IT gadgets (eg: Mobile phones, Tablets).

I use Sentry Safe. It is a drill down safe that is fire proof too and I lock all my valuables in it.

Employers are having problems with their maids' usage of mobile phones.

Allow maids to have mobile phones and some are addicted to it and distracted them from babysitting/housework ...forbid them from using causes unhappiness. It's just like not allowing them to go out and problems when they do :slapshead:

Any mummies who have experience of helpers who are going back to Indonesia for a short trip (not the 2 weeks home leave), do we need a letter from the Embassy of Indonesia?
