Dino mummy, your DS2 so lucky to have remedial for Chinese.[/quote]
Indeed, we were lucky to have good teachers for his current class.
Not sure for Chinese remedial classes cos I din ask him whether there is any.
But I know there were remedial classes conducted for other subjs.
His FT is very committed. She teaches the class - Eng, Maths and Science. (Science starts fr Sem 2)
Super "on" too… regular brief updates (in fact daily updates) on what was being taught, what need to be done etc etc. My DS2 is not easy to handle, FT did a lot to check on him.
Chinese Tr is good too, I realised there is more compo practices as compared to my DS1’s time in RMPS.
Assignment of Teachers to which classes is not within our control, we can only hope for the best… -
Hi Dino mummy
From what you have described, it seems that our children are in the same class. -
Dear Mummies
I am very new to this forum. I have been selected to do PV in RMPS and my daughter will only be going to Primary 1 only in 2017 (registering her only next year in 2016).
Academically wise, I have not enrolled my daughter in any academic enrichment classes like phonics or chinese. The childcare which she is currently focuses on \"play\" concept - and hence, even in K1, there is no spelling or ting xie. I do recognise the importance of play and hence I do not want to put so much pressure on her.
My friends whose children are in so-called neighbourhood tells me that it is important to put the children to be in the first 2 classes as the schools would put the resources in these two classes.
With RMPS, may I find out whether does it work the same? Meaning, if my daughter does not perform as well as expected, will the teachers not be motivated or bothered with the low performing students?
I am a little concerned and still in a dilemma about registering her in RMPS. While I know RMPS produces excellent PSLE results, I am fearful of the stress. Do all students have tuition and outside enrichment classes to help cope with the school work?
By the way,can I find out, if you are a SG PV and you stay within 2km (outside 1km), what are the chances of getting into Phase 2b?
Thanks!!!

Hi,
My daughter is currently in P1 and we were shock to find out there is no formal PTM in rmps. Her report book is still empty and with us since we got it from the bookshop. The form teacher has not collected. Really disappointing with the school’s practice in this aspect. We have no formal feedback on how our kid is doing in school. Hope the new principal onboard next year will be better in this area. -
Hi parents,
May I know when will there be streaming? P2 going P3 and P4 going P5? Thks! -

I suppose this requires getting used to. It has been like this since Mrs Wong came on board. You are free to contact the teachers anytime you want to obtain updates, rather than only during scheduled PTMs.
Err...these no exam for P1s, so what would you like to see in the report book? :scratchhead: -

Though there were no exams for P1s, there were still unit tests for t2 that were counted. We were given a 'progress report' in a A4 size paper instead (landscape with very small prints). I feel the tests results, together with this progress report could be better presented in the report book.Ixuslea:

Other schools like Fairfield and Henry Park do not have exams for the P1s as well but results from unit tests were shown in report book. Yes, they do have report book for P1s (end of term 2). So there is still something to see in the report book. -

Oops, my mistake. No news on a new principal next year. Just usually principal will rotate after 5/6 years.
