      Hi Mashy and Starlight1968sg,

Our posts clashed. You 2 are my favorite people now! sits near to Mashy and Starlight1968sg LoL!

      Carbohydrates and vitamins?! Madness!

      Starlightsg1968,
I can agree to K2 being tested on friend, tricks, dream, place, sleep, grow. Not beneath and promise. I tested my P2 son on beneath. He got it only after a few tries.

Why don’t we just give Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to K2 now. You know, prepare them for P1 which will prepare them for P6 which will prepare them for O levels which will prepare them A levels which will prepare them for Uni?

My friend's girl's spelling a few weeks ago: crevice, leaves, weave, eavesdrop, practice, police, cleaver, office.

        :yikes:

          mashy:

My girl did skate, snap, splash, swim, dolphin and whale last term. Took a few days but she managed. She only had 5-6 words each week.

I think the difference between my girl's spelling list is that, they are grouped according to phonics. Your list doesn't seem to apply that.
          Her logic, see underlined phonetics:
Week 1: think, chat, blanket, clap, flip, bread, crab, lunch
Week 3: dream, friend, grow, promise, tricks, sleep, place, beneath
Week 5: scared, skate, spin, sticky, small, snap, swim, rest
Week 7: scratch, splash, sprain, strength, shrub, throw, shrink, thread
Week 9: creatures, shark, whale, dolphin, starfish, sea lion, walrus, seal (sea creatures)

All these K2 spelling lists are truly ridiculous! I would just opt out of them if your kids can’t manage them. My daughters, ASD and NT, did not learn any spelling in kindy. They weren’t even in English school until P3/P5. They aced their spelling from that point on, even though the words then could be 3-4 syllables long. I would focus on reading rather than spelling at this age.

Ya, my wife lost. She saw how he hates spelling and ting xie now. I have always wanted him to drop chinese. The exemption letter exist for a reason! Yes, he is 2009 and I will use that exemption letter too on the first day of P1, if I get things my way. Grrr....

Er....your revised spelling list still looks difficult. As long as he does not get disenchanted, I suppose it should be ok? I revised my boy's next week spelling to snap, swim, stop, spin, small, rest. LoL! I am allergic to academic stress!

My boy got a place under Phase 1. Has phase 3 started? Ya I know that anxiety. My eldest went for ballot at 2C and didn't get selected. Keep your fingers crossed, k?
