      Hi Carolina,

If you are registering your 1st child, there is actually no letter from MOE. You need to go to the MOE website to check out the registration dates and see which phase you qualify to register under. The letter mentioned here in the last few days is for those with siblings already in the school. Hope this clarifies.

      Thanks for the above.

However, I thought I read on the MOE website that a letter will be sent to all parents by MOE to inform of the registration procedure and that my child is due for primary school registraion.

I also remember receiving one for my sister many years back when her 1st child was due for primary school registration although they were overseas then.

      Has the procedure changed again?

      Thanks,
      Carolina

Think there will be some p1 registration info coming thru the kid's kindergarten.[/quote]Thanks, lostbunny, for the explanations. 😃

        Hi all,

My son has been admitted into MBS for next year P1.

As per what the experienced parents here have advised, P1 will be PM session next year.

What I would like to ask now, is the school timings for PM session. When I asked the teacher during registration process, he told me that PM session ends at 6.20pm, but I forgot to ask about starting time.

Also, I recall from when I was in MBS, there was flag lowering ceremony for PM session and flag raising ceremony for AM session. Is it still the same now? Does the flag lowering ceremony ends at 6.20pm or later?

Sorry for the detailed questions, but I need the details in order to discuss with the grandparents regarding next year's arrangements for my son and daughter (who will be in K2 next year).

        Thanks so much!!

My son is in Pri 1 this year. Reporting time is 12:20pm. They usually sing the National Anthem during reporting time. There is no longer flag lowering during dismissal. They are dismissed after the bell rings at 6:20pm and usually dismissed quite on time. Recess time for P1 is 2:50 to 3:20pm.

The official time for your ds to reach school is 12:20pm as mentioned by Carolina. My mum usually send my ds to school 20 to 30 minutes earlier so that she can proceed to fetch my niece who is studying in K1. Going to school earlier, the kids can also do silent reading in the hall.

                      Hi,

Can parents of current P1 kids help to explain this?

During the mid year report book states
                      Subject. Assessment
                      English. LC 1
                      Spelling 1
                      Language review 1

What are the meaning of LC1, spelling 1 and language review 1?
Because my fren dd scored 100% in both LC1 n spelling1, but only got 80% in language review.

So we are wondering could it be something like CA1 n SA1 during our time…
