        Hi,

i’m thinking of bring my 4 yr old to the GPA dental @ United Square. His teeth are badly stained so he will need to undergo cleaning by the dentist. DS is also very afraid of going to the dentist, so is there anyone who has bring their dear child to this clinic? any recommendations for a patient dentist who is experienced working with small children? Thanks in advance!

My older boy had a phobia of dentist too due to a bad experience with his school dentist in P1. So I brought him to Sparkle Dental at Square 2 when he needed a filling in P2. The dentist made some talk with him and let him watched a cartoon movie while filling and cleaning his teeth. Everything went smoothly and he came out smiling.

              Hi multitasker88,

Experiences for 2 members of my family on braces with the same very experince surgeon this week .Not as scary as I thought for the first appointment. This surgeon has 3 outlets, one at beach rd, another can see from Yew Tee MRT and newly open at Toa Payoh with special package ,cover all $3500, only at TPY Others that I checked $4000 only braces , without x-ray,extraction,etc.They have a website too . Check on http://www.greenlifedental.com , 6250 0630

The clinic has only 2 dentists - one male and one female. My son was treated by the female dentist and I was treated by the male dentist. Both are very patient and gentle. And the clinic is opened everyday as they have different \"off\" days.

My kid is at the age of changing to new set of perm teeth. I noticed the new ones start growing from inner before the current ones get shaky or ready to drop off. In a dilemma whether to go to proactively to extract the current ones so that the new ones can grow properly. Any advice here?

I also noticed there’s one that I possibly extracted a ittle too late in the stage (when it gets shaky) and it seems to be growing a little crooked now (sort of not enough space to grow in between the space now) - wonder if it’ll "fix" naturally by itself??!!

                    hi radiantmum,

I started out by bringing my kid to the dentist to extract when teeth is very wobbly....and dentist told me it's good to take it out (rather than wait). Now am just waiting for it to fall by itself cos it's getting way too expensive to make repeat visits and I was informed by someone at School Dental Service that it's ok to DIY.

DS1's teeth come out jagged and crooked. SDC dentist told me it's ok, once the others start sprouting, the teeth will correct when the new ones push against it; and the jaggedness will go away once the tooth is put to use.

So far, no dentist has recommended to have the teeth proactively taken out.

My DS fell and his front tooth came off at age 7+.

The tooth came out complete with longish 'pointing' top.. ..
He seems to be okay and I didn't bring him to the dentist yet 😛

Reminded me of DS last tooth extraction incident. I asked for the School Dentist to help to extract during days/week into his first school days (and gleefully thinking that I am saving $40 or so). Prep him on the chair & tool thingy but found out later from him that the dentist simply use a string and pull it out! Don't know to be amused or faint.
