my son has been telling me they always have relief teacher to teach them, at times can be as long as like 7-8 months, and the worst is that the relief teacher has just completed \"A\" level only. so many a times, the students have to rely on themselves to study hard
It is quite normal. As discussed in some previous discussion, my DS has more than 3 relief teachers in one subject. My DS feedback that some relief teachers are better than the normal staff. Some of my friends were telling me it is worst in other schools. -

Hi Kiasuson, can share what is the promotional criteria at RI at end of sec 2 to be able to continue to sec 3 IP programme ? For those who miss the cut-off what happen then? -

I understand that the GPA must be above 2 and pass in English, Philosophy, RE and CLE. I am not sure what will happen if the student miss the promotional criteria. I am also given the impression that a GPA of 2 in RI is equivalent to a B3 in 'O' Level. -
Did any of your boys watched the play Love is the Law? This play is about a world where homosexuality is the norm and heterosexuality is ridiculed and demonised. Read about it in the papers today. Glad my son hasn’t watched it or I would be very upset.
It was performed in front of students, their families and teachers on March 13. Subsequent performances were banned by the school. Good job, Mrs Lim.
How can they even dream about screening this in school? Perhaps ok for the more mature JC kids but for the lower Sec? I wonder if any lower sec boys watched it too. -

I don't think rgs' principal invited any TOP pri school students for tea. 'TOP' is subjective, depends on the school one is from. She does invite national players from sports for tea though. Almost always, these are not TOP students. -

It is so sad to hear students and parents making judgement on other children about their intelligence level and the need to engage tutors despite being in a top school.
There is a parent from RI who had to engage tutors for almost all the subjects for their son because this boy is a special needs child and although his intelligence level is high but he is not able to follow through the school lessons due to his disability. Unfortunately, many people like to criticise without understanding the child's background. The parent was very unhappy as their son was periodically mocked by his classmates.
My son is also a Special Needs student with executive function disorder, Irlen Syndrom and APD although many psychologist, teachers and tutors who know him well understand his potential and abilities. He has to work harder than anybody else. I do not feel a need to explain his disability but have also receive many criticism for his \"fake\" intelligence level. I do not expect high academic performance level from my son as I believe as long as he achieve average result and has a well balance school life, is happy and gets along well with his classmates and friends, he will go far in his own way. My son is by nature non-competitive, easily contented and good temper. He gets along well with his classmates and seniors. I only wants him to have good memories of his school life in RI. -

RGS does invite TOP pri sch students for \"Tea With The Principal\".
my gal received the invitation card last yr
(heard fr her FT, names of the top few pupils based on P5 results were submitted to RGS's principal when she corresponded with the primary schools)
